  1. Result: Accepted off the waitlist! (VFMP) aGPA: >85% MCAT: 31 total ECs: Tons of long-term, leadership-oriented, and creative ECs, many related to health & medicine. Interview: Felt that most stations went well, messed up 1 or 2; left the interview with an uncertain feeling. I didn't do any preparation before the interview--I just walked in there and did my best to be myself. Year: Completed undergrad Geography: OOP I can't believe I'm finally posting this after creeping the forums since 2009! I am so ecstatic and thankful that I am finally being given the opportunity to pursue my dream career, especially at my top choice medical school.
  2. I would really appreciate it if anyone can tell me what my chances are to receive an interview at the following med schools: UBC: OOP applicant. Academic Average: 85.5% (lowest year dropped). MCAT: meets cutoffs (11/8/12). Non-Academic Activities: I would say they are well above average. Alberta: OOP applicant. GPA about 3.72 (lowest year dropped). Rewriting MCAT in September (last year got 11 BS/8 PS/12 VR). Non-Academic Activities: I would say they are well above average. Western: IP applicant/SWOMEN status, 2nd time applying. Two best years: 3.80 GPA and 3.92 GPA. Rewriting MCAT in September (last year got 11 BS/8 PS/12 VR). Toronto: IP applicant, 2nd time applying. wGPA 3.80. Rewriting MCAT in September (last year got 11 BS/8 PS/12 VR). Non-Academic Activities: I would say they are well above average. McMaster: IP applicant, 2nd time applying. cGPA 3.45. Rewriting MCAT in September (last year got 11 BS/8 PS/12 VR). Queen's: IP applicant, 2nd time applying. Last two years: 3.72 GPA and 3.92 GPA (average 3.82). Rewriting MCAT in September (last year got 11 BS/8 PS/12 VR). Non-Academic Activities: I would say they are well above average.
  3. I wrote the MCAT for the first time in August, and I scored a 31 total (PS/VR/BS = 8/12/11). I'm trying to decide if I should rewrite or not as a result of the stupid 8 I got in PS, which is obviously below cut-offs at most schools. However, I'm worried that my VR score will decrease if I rewrite, as a 12 is higher than I ever received on practice tests. My 1st med school choice is Western (I have SWOMEN status) so the 8 in PS doesn't matter. I pretty much need to decide now whether or not to rewrite next summer (I'll only have 2 months to study), since I don't want to have to write the 2015 MCAT.
  4. Level: UG 4th year (Ontario resident) VR: 12 GPA: 3.28 (unfortunately my excellent marks from my 3rd year abroad won't count, so my GPA is low) Do I have a chance? I did CASPer this morning and I think I rocked it.
  5. 1st year: 2.86 2nd year: 3.5 3rd year: 3.7 (on exchange) Summer courses: 3.7 in each of 3 half-courses
  6. Where do I have a chance? 4th year (from London, so Western won't care that my score is unbalanced) MCAT: VR: 12 BS: 11 PS: 8 Total: 31 cGPA: 3.28 (doesn't count grades from year on exchange; my GPA was 3.7 on exchange) ECs: lots of leadership positions, LOTS of volunteering, most health-related, includes hospital volunteering & research Applying to: Western, Queen's, McMaster, Toronto, McGill
