  1. I wish both of you the best. You certainly can do it. Along with your other study resources, make sure you study systematically covering the CCFP's objectives (points posted on their website); I cannot stress this point enough. Here's an reflection written by a smart, humble and practical preceptor. To my surprise, he had only passed this exam on his third try. http://www.cfp.ca/content/cfp/59/9/981.full.pdf Don't give up! Good luck to all those writing in the fall.
  2. Hi Skiordie, Your best bet is to phone the CCFP and ask to get an official reply. If you fail the SAMPs and pass the SOOs, you only need to repeat the SAMPs for the next exam. The results are automatically sent to your FM Program unless you state in writing by a certain date that you do not wish for them to send it along. The information is used by your FM program for internal improvement of the program.
  3. How did you guys find the SAMPs? I am quite worried about them. I felt there were many vague questions and some topics tested on that perhaps is not Family Medicine. Does anyone have any satistics on the SAMPs?
  4. Why don't you visit McGill, Concordia and etc during your spring break? Ahead of time scout out classes in the diciplines you are interested in. Note down the times for the biochem classes and just sit in. You can always contact the university and see if you can arrange to audit a upper year(3rd-4th year) class in something. At McGill some of them get really small - like 7-8 ppl. Also, try to catch some undergrads after class and chat with them regarding their experience. Biochem and excercise sci isn't for everyone, it really depends on your interests. Best to see what a typical lecture would be like. (and there's always research route if biochem doesn't work out)
  5. I remember the feeling when I saw my interview invite email and decision... These few months that you guys are going through now are the few months I'd never forget. Congrats everyone! Best of luck at the interviews!
  6. CONGRATS! That means you're invited for an interview!! McGill's FAQ also answers this question on their website. Best of luck!
