  1. I doubt that it's because so many people don't get Derm. The same goes for plastics and ophtho too but the alternative matching rate is much lower.
  2. Just wondering where internventional radiology falls under? Is that a subspecialty within diagnostic rads or does it fall under internal?
  3. I'm curious as to how the chances of matching an alternative discipline is determined. Wouldn't that depend on what alternative discipline you choose? Also, why are there such huge differences between specialties with respect to your chances of matching to an alternative discipline? Is it because your first choice is too specialized? For example: ophto looks terrible but derm looks much better with respect to chances of matching to alt. discipline. Why do you guys feel Emerg is so competitive? This is news to me.
  4. Wow didn't think Emerg was that high up. I thought it would be Optho or Rads.
  5. Accepted off WL to Hamilton today. Time stamp: 3:53pm cGPA: ~3.90 Vr: 10 CASPER: felt like my ability to type fast gave me an edge to type more of my thoughts and I made sure to answer all questions per section rather than making each answer as perfect as possible. Current Year: 1 year post graduation from undergrad Interview: felt good about most stations except 2-3. I think confidence was a strength for me.
  6. Thank you!! Also, how accessible are groceries?
  7. Are these buildings generally close to campus (<15 mins walk)? Are they also generally easy to find?
  8. Do most people live in student houses? I personally have never liked the concept of sharing the kitchen or washroom with 5 other people. How are the apartments near campus ?
  9. Are you guys offering a billeting service or is it too late for that?
  10. I think the latter lol. I'm sure someone here is talented enough to write us a program that allows us to automatically refresh emails and minerva portal.
  11. I see..it`s more so that the non-cosmetic plastic surgeons that seem to not be able to reap the benefits of a good pay or job prospects. when you choose a residency in plastics, do you already decide on which stream of plastics you want to go for or does that come after (e.g. cosmetic vs. reconstructive)?
  12. I thought plastics was supposed to be one of the highest paid specialties, no?
