  1. They don't state if they weigh any section more than others. They just seem to have a cut-off and this is probably set based on the application pool for that year (no one really knows!). Queens is really a black box when it comes to their admission policies. I would just apply and hope for the best!
  2. Queens is unlikely. They don't really reveal what the cut offs are and with excellent extracurriculars you may have a shot (so do apply!). However, 3.7 and 126 CARS is probably on the lower end.
  3. You should be fine for UofT since the MCAT is simply a 125+ cut-off and not assessed competitively. If you write a strong application and have good references, you should be able to secure an interview. Queens doesn't post their MCAT cut-offs but I got in this cycle with a 127 CARS (my psych score was also higher than yours but C/P was lower). Mac weighs CARS heavily and you may not be that competitive with a 126 (is 3.96 your cGPA as well?). I would suggest looking through the interview invite list to see if people with your stats got an interview (ECs don't matter for Mac). Ottawa does not require the MCAT so you should be fine. I would recommend you apply this cycle. If it doesn't work out, you can consider re-writing next year.
  4. An app to queens is worth it. Calculate your wGPA for both Queens and UofT. I had a similar cGPA but much higher wGPAs and got into both queens and uoft. You also meet the UofT MCAT threshold and your ECs are quite strong (the first author pubs will help immensely for UofT).
  5. I think you have a great shot at both schools! For UofT at least, your reference letters and essays will also have a huge impact. I recommend you get letters from people that know you really well (prestige of referee has 0 impact) and really start working on the essays as soon as possible. MCAT at UofT is not evaluated competitively so you should be fine. Ottawa doesn't even look at the MCAT. I would also suggest you throw in an app for Queens. They don't officially post their MCAT cutoffs but no harm in trying.
  6. were you able to get the momentum VISA/Amex combo? I was told by a scotia rep that I can't get the amex gold with a momentum without paying a fee for the momentum.
  7. TIME STAMP: 8:58 AM EST Result: Accepted! cGPA: 3.9 (my weighted is lower at queens) MCAT: 514 (127 in verbal) ECs: Very research oriented. Multiple publications and long-term employment. Nothing too extraordinary compared to many on this forum. Year: Graduated undergrad in 2016 Geography: IP I thought I completely bombed the interview. The panel felt cold and for 2 stations, I was cut off due to time. I really thought I had no shot here because of the interview but I guess post-interview thoughts mean nothing. EDIT: have accepted my UofT offer instead. Good luck to everyone on the waitlist!
  8. I have waited a long dam time to post here. TIME STAMP: 7:44 AM EST Result: Accept to MAM wGPA: 3.96 MCAT: Above cut off ECs: Very research oriented. Multiple publications and some volunteering. No sports. Essays: I felt they were really good compared to last year (kind of controversial!). Year: Graduated undergrad in 2016 Geography: IP
