  1. Yes you are right, I guess I got it backwards - rising rates are more likely to cause a downturn in housing prices (not vice-versa). Double-whammy for those with an line of credit and a mortgage!
  2. Unless of course, the all raise the "adjustment factor" at once (i.e. price-fixing). What is more concerning is prime itself increasing, which I fear is bound to happen during the time I have an active LOC. Let's just hope the housing market doesn't collapse in the next few years causing interest to rise. :S
  3. Yes there is hope but as you stated, it is up to your performance on Casper.
  4. Hmmm... as I understood it, I was getting the Scotiagold Passport Visa. I haven't signed my papers yet, but I'll let you know when I know for sure. You've got me worried now. The passport visa was a selling point for me.
  5. Hey Danisings - looks like we will be in the same boat! My SO of four years is staying behind in the GTA when I move to Kingston in the fall too. We are planning on visiting each other onthe weekends (luckily we both have cars). Eventually, although dictated by the job market, I'm hoping he can move to Kingston as well. I think it's doable but exactly what you've said - have to make take advantage of quality time, rather than quantity.
  6. You were lucky to be able to choose! I'll be doing the distance thing for a while, unfortunately. But if you want it to work, you make it work. I'm hoping to be able to move back closer to home during residency. Maybe I'm just dreaming though!
  7. I am lucky enough to be in the same boat. I think that people forget the whole "team" part of a relationship. My partner has been unbelieveably supportive of me during undergrad, my masters and my application to med. I know that his support significantly contributes to my success. In essence, my success is our success.
  8. MCAT score? Maybe Queen's ... they don't differentiate between OOP and IP which is a nice bonus.
  9. Thanks! I'll try checking again. I didn't see any specific contact info but I was only using my phone's browser.
  10. So this is mostly a venting type post. I called my bank (which will remain anonymous) and asked to speak with someone regarding a professional line of credit for Medical school. The conversation between the receptionist and I quickly turned for the worse. She immediately got rude telling me I need a receipt of my payment for tuition and a Cosigner. I said I've spoken to several banks, all which do not require one. Well... Apparently she has "Friends" at other banks and they aaaaall need cosigners. "I'm not going to Argue" she said, and then proceeded to repeat her argument over and over. I finally just said "Fine, thanks I'll look elsewhere." Really sucks, I love my bank! Definitely goes to show that you really need to find someone who specializes in these types of loans. My home town doesn't have a med school, but I'll try again at a branch close to U of T.
  11. Accepted Checked Solus @ 3:00AM and received confirmation email @ 8:58AM. OMSAS cGPA: 3.65 (most two recent ~ 3.75) 12BS 10PS 10VR R Completed Masters Above average ECs (extensive volunteer including international, several years of research, no journal pub but conferences, abstracts, presentations, part-time jobs throughout entire UG/Masters) Completely blown away. Congrats to all who will get in this cycle and for those who don't, keep at it and learn from the experience. This was my second time applying and I wasn't sure I could overcome my lower GPA, but it is possible! Will be accepting Queens.
  12. Two for one!! Students Sarah Thompson uses derivative equations needlessly to showoff. SORTS Steve only remembers television shows.
