1. Summer is here !!!

2. I was told if you move to Yukon for a few years (study or work there) then you will be IP in most provinces for medical school application.
3. Your chance at Manitoba is as good as Sask, after dropping your worst 6 to 10 courses, your aGPA at Manitoba maybe somewhere 4.0 to 4.5. Your chance at McMaster and Western Ontario also very good in my experiences.
4. Here's the link to uManitoba recent years statistics http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/health_sciences/medicine/admissions/8831.html Not only Manitoba, but also other MD schools will give Aboriginal applicants some or more weight than regular applicants, you have Much Better chance than most applicants due to your aboriginal status. Good luck.
5. Since I never apply to UBC, so don't weight my opinion too much. Here are my thoughts. 1. I'm OOP to UBC, my chance is less than IP, you are IP at UBC, your chance is much better. 2. Compared your GPA, MCAT and ECs to people I know applied to UBC, you have good chance for interview. So does other schools in Canada and USA. 3. Definitely apply OMSAS and/or Alberta, Calgary, McGill, etc to increase your chance for interview. At least 5 schools in Ontario, forget Northern Ontario unless you are aboriginal or from Northern Ontario. 4. There's no guarantee if UofT accepted you, then other schools also will accept you. In fact most MD students in UofT rejected by one or more other MD schools. 5. I know more than twenty people applied MD schools in Canada, no one applied only one school, average 6 to 10 schools I think. I applied 6 schools each cycle, first cycle two interviews in Ontario, one waitlist, no acceptance. 2nd cycle, two interviews outside Ontario (OOP), one waitlist, one acceptance. I think if I applied 8 to 10 schools instead of 6 at first cycle, I maybe accepted at first cycle and no need to apply 2nd cycle. Just let you know, applied only one school is NOT a good idea.
6. Will study MD in the Prairies !

7. Accepted to Manitoba today !

8. Sorry, no insight for UofT, you just have to trust their admission process, UofT did ask you write down your special condition on your application, like you're from 3 years degree program, started university from Winter, in co-op degree program, exchange student program, etc.So I assumed if you mention your special condition follow their application instructions and if you meet their weighting formula, they will give it to you.
9. Yes, I did know one from a 3 years degree program, applied at 3rd year (last year) so only had 2 years GPA, one year meet 3/5 but the other year didn't, interviewed by Western and waitlisted. Western asked Dean's letter in February to proof there is no other way to complete the degree in 3 years by following the 3/5 rule. That's why you have to mention your year 1 situation on your application to make year 1 count as a full year from winter to summer. You may need your dean's letter. VR12 and 3.7 cGPA interviewed by McMaster.
10. Hello, You already at the door right outside of MD schools, why re-take balanced 34 MCAT ? Just apply broadly and improve your ECs, speaking and social skills. Higher MCAT get you no where except Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Just my opinion.
11. 1. So far you have 97 credits, If you took a summer course to have 100 credits or you have AP/IB credits, Manitoba will drop your worst 6 courses from their 4.5 GPA calculation, but you still need 37+ MCAT for OOP to have an interview invite from recent years. 2. Your GPA converted to Saskatchewan may have pass its 83% cut-off, but you need MCAT 34+ (2014 -2015 cycle) or 35+ (2013-2014 cycle) for OOP to have an interview invite. 3. Western Ontario may put your first winter and summer as year 1 since you started from winter, on your OMSAS application you have to mention this for their attention, anyway, since your year 3 is 3.75 if you pass their MCAT cut-off and interview, they may put you on their waitlist and you need to submit your year 4 and pass 3.7 GPA by the end of May to maintain on the waitlist. 4. McMaster using your first 3 years 3.75 cGPA, if you have outstanding VR and casper, you may have a chance for interview, I personally know some people with cGPA 3.68 to 3.78 get interviewed at McMaster.
12. Mew, 3.86 wGPA for Toronto is not good, but we all know there is a chcnce if you have good MCAT above 9,9,9 and strong ECs to support your application. Your last two years 3.7+ GPA put you at the door right outside of Queen's, Western, Calgary, Dalhousie. Improve your GPA, MCAT, Ecs, ... day by day and apply broadly year after year, you will get in one day.
13. For the last 2 cycles, I know more than 10 get in MD schools in USA and Canada, some have 40+ MCAT but not a single one has perfect 4.0 cGPA. Yes, their cGPA are 3.7 to 3.9x. Yes, I know some of them with cGPA 3.7 get in with good MCAT and Ecs.
14. Every year more than ten thousand applicants applied MD schools in Canada, most of them not fighting for a realistic chance, they're fighting for a chance. Let's say you meet a school's average wGPA 3.9 and averge MCAT 33, your chance for admission to this school is still slim, because you need outstanding ECs, researchs, references, essays for an interview, even after interview, mathematical your chance for admission still less than 50% For most schools. So I applied to schools that I met minimum requirements and hope for the best, because I don't know how MD admission office judge, score or rank each applications. I can say for sure, there's NOT a MD schools in USA and Canada, accepted more than 10% MD students with perfect cGPA 4.0, not Harvard, not Yale, not Toronto, not McGill. Because GPA is not ALL they're looking for.
15. There's a chance you don't need 5th year, if you aced your new MCAT this summer and applied this coming 2015-2016 cycle and accepted. Some school need a degree before enrollment, so you need to be able to graduate before 2016 August. 1. Toronto, UBC, Alberta, Memorial - just need basic old MCAT 9-9-9 or 8-8-8, after dropping your worst 6 courses, your Toronto wGPA will be 3.9. You need strong ECs and reference for these 4 schools which I think you already had it. 2.Ottawa and McGill - MCAT is not needed, but your GPA just not there yet, apply after 4th year if your last 3 years GPA is 3.9+ 3. Queen's, Western, Calgary, Dalhousie - only need your last or best 2 years GPA 3.7+, if your MCAT is balanced 32+ and strong Ecs you can apply this summer. 4. McMaster - ECs is not needed, just VR, cGPA, Casper for interview, you can take some summer easy courses to bring up your cGPA to 3.7+ this summer, with VR11+ you still have a chance. 5. Saskatchewan and Manitoba - ECs is not needed, but need a degree before enrollment and 34+ MCAT for out-of-province applicants. Steps for MD schools application: 1. GPA, cGPA, wGPA, pre-request, degree, MCAT, ECs, reference, essays - you already have them, but keep improve them day by day, year by year. 2. Apply ALL schools that you have a chance for interview - once a year, begin in the summer, last a year, long process. 3. If not accepted, repeat step 1.
