  1. The sections on the old MCAT don't all have the same percentile rankings like they do on the new one. Look at the links in my post, 129 = 93rd percentile, which on VR puts you just below 11. A 129 on the others yes would translate to just below a 12 in PS or BS
  2. 10-11, still have to do well on it but you're not in a tough position. No reason to not prepare as well as you can regardless. https://www.aamc.org/students/download/434504/data/percentilenewmcat.pdf https://www.aamc.org/students/download/430684/data/finalpercentileranksfortheoldmcatexam.pdf
  3. Don't be too hard on yourself, after writing the MCAT I was constantly flipping between rage and sorrow for days because I was sure I did horribly and had royally screwed myself, then ended up doing well enough to not have to rewrite. It can be really hard to have a sense for how you did when you're marked relative to everyone else.
  4. From what I've read you're above the GPA cutoff and 9 VR still has a decent shot with a strong CASPer. Not an expert though, might want additional confirmation that it's worth it.
  5. I'd think of it the other way around, with a 3.77 GPA there are schools at which you won't be competitive, but at McMaster you still have a great chance! CASPer shouldn't be nearly as daunting as the MCAT or a semester of worrying about your GPA.
  6. They should have information about GPA cutoffs on their site. I think unlike every other school their posted cutoff actually means they'll consider everyone above it. As for your VR, 10 is fine along with a strong CASPer. People have posted that they were accepted with 9 or 8 VR because of their CASPer score.
  7. I see Boston and Dartmouth recommended all the time, most Canadian applicants have them on their lists
  8. Think that's just a reflection of VR and CASPer meaning a lot more than GPA at McMaster. You can make up for a low VR with CASPer, but not with your GPA
  9. Several people have posted that they were accepted at Dal with no maritime connection. I forget what they said they wrote in that essay (they like lobster?) but you could track it down in the Dal sub-forum. MUN is definitely worse with that so I agree with your conclusion to not apply there.
  10. Best advice I have ever received: Never put salt in your eyes
