  1. Weird that psych is in the supply < demand list with so many unfilled spots in first iteration.
  2. 4 McGill family med spots left in Montreal…
  3. Wow at psych. But Quebec filled, as always lol.
  4. Yes you will indeed have to do a 30-minute French and 30-minute English interview. I honestly don’t think they’re too harsh on grammar etc, they just need to see that you’re able to communicate your ideas. They say the minimum is an ER risk assessment. Honestly if you did a clinical elective entirely in French and you didn’t have any major issues, you should be ok. Saying a couple words in English is not a dealbreaker. All this stems from the fact that there have been cases of almost unilingual Francophone or Anglophone residents struggling majorly in clinical settings over the years when it’s clear that you need to be functional in both languages, even in McGill hospitals and especially in psychiatry.
  5. ^À moins que ça ait changé, ils en prennent 4 pour l’ensemble des profils particuliers (et non 4 pour chaque profil).
  6. Thank you, very helpful! I’m in a major urban area where I’m hoping to practice post-residency.
  7. Hello all (but I'm assuming fellow psych residents/practicing psychiatrists may be more suited to answering this), I'm potentially interested in consultation-liaison psychiatry and I was wondering how much of a fellowship specialty CL psych is. Are there any particularly good fellowships in Canada or the US? Are jobs mostly in academic centers? Is a strict CL practice a thing? Thanks for any input!
  8. 7 UdeM IM spots Less competitive year for psych outside the big cities (and Quebec) it seems.
  9. Regular stream is for Quebec applicants as there are no separate CMG or IMG streams.
