  1. Congratulations on your A+ and accomplishing your goal. I'm interested in doing some basic programming. Do you think that it would be possible for me to get some help from the computer department or would they not be willing to help me since I'm in the Arts faculty? Also, for the rest of you guys. I'm transferring to OCAD in September but I'm considering doing my prerequisites during the summer at york university since it's closer to my home. Would this affect my chances of getting into Medical school, or do I need to take my prerequisites during the school year?
  2. *phew* Thanks for telling me that. I only got one A+ last semester and the rest were A's so I was kinda disappointed about that. I mean I know that it was only my first semester at york University, but I felt as though I was making excuses for not having a 4.0. It really bummed me out over the Christmas break.
  3. He means that given all of the work and effort that you've committed, Acing the final doesn't really seem unrealistic, as you've said. Are you sure that you won't ace that final?
  4. hah - I see what you did there. Did you already complete your studies at York? What did you study? ok, that's great to hear. What're you studying? Have you joined or participated in any on campus activities or groups? The first couple of weeks for me was stupid hectic. I had to work full time for the first two weeks of school, which resulted in me missing a crap ton of my first classes, and several participation marks. Luckily i have a twin, so that mitigated some of damage. What surprised me the most about university life was how uneven the classes are. My intro to physics is hella easy, whereas the high amount of discipline and sacrifice needed for some of my visual arts studio classes kinda blew my mind.
  5. Hey guys, how has your first couple of weeks back to school been?
  6. Hey man, starting York in a week. I'd really like to know what it means to be "York'd" before staring school there.
  7. Trebuchets Terribly, Robert eviscerated Bill using cutlery his eccentric twin sent.
  8. Wow, two weeks on significant digits. Seems a bit too easy for me. I'll probably still take it either way. Couldn't hurt. If anything it will just be an easy way to brush up on my fundamentals as well as get an A.
  9. No problem Hammy. The internet has made me suspicious. Hey guys, I've been out of highschool for a while so my science backgroud is spotty. Should I take the 1510 intro courses for physics and mathematics and the intro courses for the other subjects (i.e. chem, org chem, biol,)?
  10. What are you saying? Did you even look at the scholarships pages? It is true that some of the scholarships are based on ethinc background, but the majority of scholarships are based on grades, program of study, and are mostly for graduate/ postdoctoral studies/research. For some reason, I think that your question, as well as your intentions, are disingenuous, but here's the link to the scholarships page anyway, see for yourself: The website even provides you with a list of external scholarships that you can find here.
  11. Hey guys, future york U Wasteman reporting for duty! So guys, anyone here ever take any courses with the art faculty at York? Also what're the science courses like? Such as physics, Chem, and org. chem. I only studied them up until the university level.
  12. I don't understand your premise. The two situations are laughably different. It has already been established in this thread that; Very little of what Donald trump says is true. see: http://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/ .So either he was given a loan greater than a million dollars, or a loan smaller than his professed amount. In all likelihood, given that rich people inherit wealth, it was more. That having money grants a person the opportunities that their poorer counter parts do not have access to. see:2. Even if Donald Trump was given a small loan of a million dollars, he still had the social connections already established by his father to take advantage of Rich people inherit, it's what they do. see: 3 Given all of that, how anyone still supports him speaks to many unfortunate truths about those people.
  13. I'm surprised that no-one is making the connection between fast moving social change and the cultural rise in authoritarianism. See: Ferguson, Black Lives Matter, Trans-awareness, national legalization of gay marriage. Seriously, Trump is doing EXACTLY what Hitler did. He uses thinly veiled one-liners, targets marginalized groups, and offers little to no solutions to real world problems. Old and weak people are terrified of the changing status quo, and what Trump signifies is someone willing to grab the reigns and "make America Great Again" (even this last one is a bit on the nose), regardless of how little sense goes into his policies. You know who else did this? Hitler. And what policies are you guys even talking about? You mean building a giant wall? Rounding up Muslims and sending them all away? Or do you mean how he plans to deal with terrorists where he literally said, 'I'm gonna bomb the shit out of them', and ' You gotta hit these terrorist where it hurts. We kill their families.' Nor is he for the golden age of capitalism with that make america great again nonsense. If he was, then he wouldn't have suppressed the unionization of his employees in his hotels. Donald trump is definitely NOT for the working class. He just uses left populism to attract the working class, when he really isn't for them. I'm also surprised that anyone believes that a man that flip-flops on EVERYTHING is authentic about anything. And do you all honestly believe that a man that got a 'small' loan of a million dollars from his family is actually going to be against legislature that reigns in the out of control financial sector. What is going on in here? Christ, no wonder so many scientists fail the critical thinking/reading and writing/verbal reasoning section of the MCAT. Damn, this thread really made me understand the importance of the social sciences/humanities studies in university.
