  1. Hi solonly,

I am interested in the mock MMI sessions! Please tell me more about it.

    Much appreciated,

  2. Hi lab2185,

I saw your post. I, too, have a low MCAT (sub 508).

If you don't mind, what was your MCAT and what do you think they consider "low" (leading to a post-interview rejection)?

  3. Yes to all. You can still fulfill this requirement. You can take it at AU. You're GPA will be calculated.
  4. I personally think CV might actually be worth more than they claim it to be. I know people with the same major, different GPA (3.95 vs 3.6), different CV, but the high GPA person got rejected pre-interview. It's weird because the person with high GPA actually has pretty decent CV as well... not sure why he was rejected. I also know a lot of people getting into McGill with 3.5~3.7 with less difficult majors, which would unlikely happen if GPA + coursework/major difficult = 70% (from last year it was 30% CV/essay, 70% grades). but... there was the personal essay part so it may not be a CV thing also that was from last year so it might not be applicable to this year. if CV is worth 10% this year... even if they secretly make it worth more it'd probably still be insignificant
  5. Rejected IP AQ: 25+ NAQ: ~35 MCAT: below 510 and CARS barely met cut-off Interview: below average Thought the interview went fine so I'm not sure what happened... I'm completely devastated Is it only an interview problem? Say if I do above average for my interview next year, will my MCAT prevent me from getting in? Any advice is helpful Congrats to those that made it though!
  6. Hi, I was wondering what are the chances of getting into Waterloo OD program with: ~3.25 OMSAS GPA pretty prestige Canadian school (don't know if it matters) amazing lab experiences Haven't taken the OAT yet but would a high score offset the low GPA? Thanks in advance for helping!
  7. I was wondering if someone can give me some feedback on what I can do to increase my chances. I'm a third yr student at McGill University I am a BC resident so UBC is pretty much my only chance. GPA As of now, I calculated my GPA for UBC to be 87%+ (overall) and 89%+ (eliminating worst year). Distributions: 1st yr: 3.78 2nd yr: 3.68 3rd yr: 3.85 MCAT 2015 The overall score is not bad. I did pretty well in my 3 sciences but I failed my CARS (verbal). I will retake it for sure EC/Volunteering 1. Research -summer of 1st year at a prestigious hospital (5th author for the paper published that year) -summer of 2nd year at a really really prestigious school in the states (3rd author for the paper published) -took a year-long research course during my 3rd year and in the progress of getting something published (as 1st author) 2. Personal training -I am planning to get a personal trainer certificate and work during the summer 3. Athletic experience -I play recreational boxing and powerlifting and plan to compete some time soon. 4. Global Medical Training Trip 5. Physician Shadowing 6. Volunteer at an eldercare center Work Experience -none, I don't speak French and I'm too caught up with my school/ other EC's any input is much appreciated
