  3. How do we view our casper grade on carms? I see it was uploaded but not able to click on it to view the score. thanks
  4. i don't think it's coming tonight for the rest of us lol
  5. how do we interpret scores btw? is it a %, quartile? what is considered a strong score?
  6. If you're genuinely interested in surgery for residency, I would speak to the staffs/residents you're with and let them know. A lot of the time, if they're aware of your genuine interest, they'll pay more attention to you, give you more OR opportunities etc, and care about your MSPR eval. Don't be afraid to ask for feedback throughout your rotation! It's always a good time to speak to staff to ask for areas to improve on. I was a very direct student lol so I would legit tell staff "you commented on my knowledge in this clinic, could you please include that when you write up my evaluation please". At the end of the day, i think as students we think that our MSPR comments count more that we think. Most of the time, programs use MSPRs to rule out people based on red flags, so I wouldn't sweat it so much!
  7. Hi friends, I know it's inevitable but the CARMS stress is so real... wondering how people are staying sane, not burned out from applications on top of rotations. Our cohort did not get the chance to do away electives.. how then are we supposed to find out "why X school for X specialty?" program descriptions on CARMS website is so generic, wondering how to make it compelling on a personal letter...
  8. hi! is there some sort of facebook group for Mcgill premeds ?
  9. is there anything new with the admissions process?
  10. Given the COVID situation, many of the extracurricular activities/events/research opportunities that I had lined up for these next months have been cancelled, I was wondering if anyone knows of some good organizations that are looking for medical students for the summer? Also what are you guys doing during your covid-19 summer to make it productive? I know CARMS is a long way ahead for me (I'm a MED1), but since so many of my cool ECs got cancelled, I'm worried that I will waste these next few months and not build a strong CV. Thanks for your input
  11. hey guys, how did you upload all the pages of the immunisation document onto minerva??
  12. As for entrance scholarships (the one we do not need to apply for) how does that work and when do we find out if we get one?
  13. Hi everyone! I'm about to start Med1 in the fall and I currently have 2 jobs (around 15 hrs/week), I was wondering if many people work during medschool, if yes is it manageable?
  14. sorry for the late post, been busy pinching myself and crying all day!! TIME STAMP: ~14h30 pm (heart attack since 9 am) Result: Admitted with condition !!! pre-reqGPA: 4,00 (redid my 4 basic pre-reqs at Athabasca, Thomson Rivers), old pre-req GPA was 3,01 MCAT: Not submitted Feeling About MMI (please be mindful of NDA): This was my 4th time interviewing at McGill, so I felt confortable with the process (I could've basically rehearsed their ppt slide), so I was a lot more relaxed and went in there being 1000% authentic (cheesy I know but its true). Felt like I was great in 3 stations, 1 below average and the rest pretty average IP/OOP/International: IP Comment : I've been applying to med school for 7 years!!! This was my 4th interview at McGill, I was straight up refused all 3 cycles before being admitted this year with no WL. Anyone with refusals, I know it sucks, I know your hurt. You need to keep trying and you need to push through if this is what you want. If anyone wants to chat PM me!!!
  15. Admitted with condition, anyone know what the conditions are?
