  1. Adhominem, I honestly feel like you should communicate that to the admissions committee. I felt like I had feedback to give to them last year about something, and they were very welcoming of it. I honestly think that approaching them about it yourself could potentially get them to look at this issue (which I agree with completely) if they haven't already. Plus, for those who participated in this forum for longer than one application cycle: is there always such petty animosity after results are out? Those who got in and those who didn't, please show respect for your peers. Generalizations are low blows no matter who delivers them.
  2. Congrats! You deserve it make us all proud. Also, now that you're not a lurker, you can help us keep the content high quality and entertaining glad we distracted you during this nerve wrecking wait!
  3. 12:01 via Email - Waitlisted 129 CARS 3.85 Interview went well but not as well as UAlberta. Good luck everyone! My thoughts are with you all.
  4. 11:36 am, ACCEPTED!!! IP 517 (129 cars) 3.83 Average o above average EC Blew MMI out of the water. Oh my god.
  5. Just to follow up with the Scotia LOC un Calgary: they automatically apply for -0.25% without asking the student. No, the line is not locked at whatever initial rate (I was totally wrong ) and the letter of acceptance received initially, the one that says that admission is dependent on fulfillment of certain other conditions (completing vaccines, CPR, police check, etc) is enough to start the process of approval for the LOC but not to actually fund it. A definitive letter of enrollment will grant a student access to the money. Is this most people's experience outside Calgary as well?
  6. Right, I get that. I will call him tomorrow in regards to the -.025% (I will probably mention the -0.50% but I expect nothing of the sort) and just make sure. I am wondering what other information I am mixing this up with that would make me think they would freeze the interest as the prime for whenever you sign it...
  7. Maybe I am wrong, but when I discussed the LOC with the Scotia representative in Calgary, he said that whatever they signed me for at the beginning would carry through my education (if I get accepted, which goes without saying). So I asked again to be sure, and he said again that if they signed me for 2.7% it'd be 2.7% throughout. Is this person just playing me and they can't actually guarantee that? Maybe I understood something wrong?
  8. I know that you can switch those points at a one-to-one ratio with aeroplan miles. A lot of aeroplan flights have some petrol fees that make you still pay a lot after using your miles anyway, unless you look carefully for flights from carriers that do not have these charges.
  9. I had an appointment with Scotia rep in Calgary last week. No prime minus here (yet). Do you guys think that there is a way to negotiate that?
  10. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any experience to share about Emerg Residency (either the FRCPC or CCFP-EM). How is that?
