Hi Everyone, Wondering what chances are as a grad applicant. Undergrad GPA: cGPA3.63, best 2 years (3.87), UofT (adjusted) 3.75 MCAT: meets cut offs Completed thesis-based Master of Public Health in Chronic Disease Epidemiology (from major US research university) Posters: 6 (all are first or sole author) Journal publications (maybe some more depending on how COVID-19 affects publication speed): 11 (4 first author, 1 sole author, 3 second author) Teaching experience: TA'ed undergrad course on history o medicine, undergrad course on innovation in biomedical engineering, and grad course on medical ethics. Also a graduate student research mentor helping an undergrad w their thesis, led 2 lectures in a 6-lecture fellowship program accredited by the institution Prizes/Awards: 1 small merit-based undergraduate award, best research post award at undergrad conference, summer internship scholarship from graduate institution, a couple scholarships for graduate posters/conferences Research internships/experiences: have worked with 10 different PIs in various research settings (pubic health, in-patient, out-patient, systematic reviews). Have worked in Toronto hospitals as well as a summer internship opportunity through Harvard Med. Several of research projects were of my design/idea (which I explain in CV). Leadership: started a research-based interest group at grad school where I led journal meetings and invited guest speakers to discuss research in the field which was sponsored by one of the research institutes at school, sat on 4 committees as department rep in undergrad, treasurer/president of department in undergrad. Clinical: over 700 volunteer hours at children's hospital (5 years), registered note-taker for students with disabilities (3 years) Just worried because GPA is too low to be competitive with undergrad applicants and pubs I feel won't be competitive among other grad applicants.
