  1. Bac in Anatomy and Cell Biology or Bac in Physiology to the get into med later ? pls help
  3. Hello, I am a graduating Sec V student and I applied to Brébeuf for a DEC in Sciences de la santé. My Sec IV overall grade average is 94, and this year, it's 95. After applying, some of my teachers started telling me I made a mistake and should have applied to the BI program instead. I have intentions of going to McGill after CEGEP to study medicine (and to become a surgeon, hopefully) and I am now wondering if this mistake will cost me my chances to get into McGill, as some of my teachers said that McGill is very selective and they tend to pick BI students from Brébeuf more than those with a regular DEC. Should I be worried? Thanks, Vyke
  5. Hi ! I'm a second year med student and i've already helped some students pass the casper exam and the MMI for both Mcgill and all the french universities in QC. I do coaching in english and french! If you're interested please contact me! Bonjour!
  6. Hi Everyone!! So I had a couple of questions if anyone could answer it would be highly appreciated! 1) Right now I am in my last semester of CEGEP (I did my CEGEP in 4 semesters, however i started during the winter semester). Obviously I want to apply to med-p and dent-p at mcgill. However, in order to do so that would mean that i would have to wait for a semester (since I am finishing my cegep in the fall). Would i still be applicable to applying for mcgill's med-p and dent-p after staying for a gap semester (not doing any studies)? 2) At the moment i have an r-score of 35.2 which is really stressing me out. Like its not a competitive r-score but its not that bad (I like calling it the grey area). But does anybody know if people with r-scores like mine make it into mcgill med-p and dent-p or am I just dreaming that i have a chance of getting in haha? In order to counterbalance my r-score's uncompetitiveness I have been working as a caregiver and i got my first aid and cpr trainings. Other than that i did some volunteering (approx. 100 hours). I also got some trophies back from high school. But does anybody know if people with r-scores like mine make it into mcgill med-p and dent-p or am I just dreaming that i have a chance of getting in haha? 3) I started revising for the casper but could anyone give me any pointers on whats the best method to study for it. I bought the "**DELETED** casper" book but i found the responds they give in the book too unrealistic because they're very long. So does anyone have any suggestions?
  7. I'm trying to decide between John Abott or Vanier College and don't know what to choose.
  8. Hey everyone! I just want to ask does anyone know when the invites are out this year ?
  9. Hi!
Merci beaucoup!
  11. Bonjour! Merci!
  12. Hello everyone, Let us present ourselves: we are student ambassadors of McGill Medicine. Not too long ago, we were in the applicant seats and we sympathize with the anxiety that comes along with that role. In fact, some of us roamed the pages here at premed101 and asked questions of our own in the hope of elucidating some of our worries about the application process and student life at McGill Medicine. We are glad to tell you that we are happy with our choice and this has brought us to pilot this Q&A initiative, where we hope to give back some of the good advice we have received along the way. Please do note that although we are affiliated with McGill's admission committee, the opinions we give here represent an honest and subjective view that is independent from the admissions committee. Now that is cleared up...Dear applicants, please ask away! 16. Hi! I know there are other discussions currently up but I couldn't find any specific for McGill OT QY applicants. Has anyone who applied to the McGill OT QY program heard back yet, gotten accepted/ offer to nominate or waitlisted? I thought we would hear back by now (end of April- due to friends in previous years hearing back in April) but I still haven't received anything in my email.
  19. Salut! 21. Hi! Is it bad to re-upload your CV? I am waiting on an answer from a verifier but I want to upload my documents now just to be safe. I might have to re-upload my CV closer to the deadline at 9pm, depending on what my verifier replies back to me. Should I wait before uploading my CV or can I just upload twice and they will only consider the latest version?
  22. So like, yeah! Hi, cegep student first semester done. I passed the important classes like Calculus and gen. chem. 1, but I failed french and like discrete math, which idk why i have this class but it's just 2 credits and not worth as much as cal or chem, and just saw that it really isn't a science prereq. for mcgill. So I just wanted to say how much does it lower my chance of getting accepted into mcgill in a Bsc. program?
  24. I got into Honours HSS at Ottawa U and I'm still waiting on Anatomy and cell biology at Mcgill. Which program is best to transfer into either premed or dentistry. I'm not too sure what I want to do yet, but I know I love health science and medicine. I want to get a high GPA and I heard Ottawa U is best for that and the courses seem very interesting. However, I am from Montreal and I would prefer to stay here. I also got into life science and nutrition at McGill and kinesiology at Udem. Anyone have any advice on what the best path is to take to get into medicine?
  25. Hi! Wondering if somebody received news recently regarding the program, courses to register and the orientation? Also, did you guys completed your immunization and BLS?
