  1. Hey guys, Like a good few of us, I'm sure, I got waitlisted for UBC's DMD 2028 admissions cycle. I wanted to start this forum so we can keep track of the waitlist, and see if any movement occurs. . .for our cases, hopefully lots of movement this year!! Fingers crossed we all get where we need to be!
  2. Post interview offers, acceptances, and stats below so we can all stay informed. Thanks!
  3. REQUIREMENT: One full year course (or two half year courses) in general biochemistry. This course should cover protein chemistry and the chemistry of other biomolecules, cellular metabolism and molecular biology. I am a student at Western University. I have completed 0.5 of this requirement by taking the following course at Western: "Biochemistry and Molecular Biology 2280". However, I am wondering what other half course would count for general biochemistry? The only other 2nd year level Biochemistry course at UWO is for upper year Food and Nutrition students only... and the remaining options don't seem like "general" biochemistry: Biochemistry 3381A - Biological Macromolecules Biochemistry 3382A - Biochemical Regulation Biochemistry 3385B - Human Biochemistry Biochemistry 3386B - Clinical Biochemistry Biochemistry 3390B - Advanced Methods for Biochemistry Will any of these courses count towards the requirements for general biochemistry? Do other universities offer an additional "half year" course in general biochemistry? I also would want to complete this requirement in summer school as I am in my 4th year and would either have to take it this semester (possibly tank my GPA as biochem is not my strongpoint), or take an additional semester in the following year which would interfere with entering into a Masters program in September (is doing this in the summer a bad idea?). Also, I have a 0.5 Pass/Fail credit remaining - would it be possible to turn a a prerequisite course into a pass/fail and still have it count? ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Hello everyone, I am curious if dental school students use the tool Anki to study? I know its very popular in medicine, but not sure if it is also in dental school. If so, I would love if anyone has any resources for school-specific (U of T preferred) Anki decks. Thanks!
  5. Hi guys! I'm a recent graduate from the University of Guelph, and I am planning on taking the cDAT this upcoming November. I unfortunately screwed myself over and didn't take organic chemistry in my undergrad because I didn't want it messing up my GPA but I know UWO requires it. I wanted to take it this upcoming fall but UofG doesn't offer it until the winter semester. The UWO admissions page says "Prerequisite courses can be taken at any time but must be completed by April 30 of the year of entry". If I were to take it at UofG in the winter semester, I would technically be done the course as the semester ends on April 26th, however as they release the marks in the following week, I may not have my orgo mark until May 3rd. I know this is super confusing I was wondering whether anyone has experience with applying prior to having all their pre-reqs done? If it's not possible I can simply transfer the credit to take it at UWO instead, but having taken general chemistry courses at Guelph, I feel that I would be at a disadvantage taking it elsewhere. I appreciate any insight whatsoever!
  6. Hello! Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! I hope that you have a great first year. The waitlist is a great achievement and so is getting an interview. This year has been pretty crazy and with no interviews And has been very stressful. I thought I’d start this forum to see how everyone is doing and if there is movement on the waitlist. I am OOP waitlisted in the bottom third!
  7. Hey Guys, I stumbled upon this test prep ebook which presents information tested on the Canadian (written) and American (part II) board exams in point form. I thought it was a solid purchase, and wanted to share it with you. Good Luck!!! https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B085QN35M8
  8. Hi I took the cDAT last February and scored 27AA and 23PT. I major in Physiology and Immunology and I've tutored biology before. I can also give you some tips on applications and etc. I got interviews at UBC, UWO, and Case Western. I charge $40 an hour but it's flexible. I'm usually around UofT.
