  7. Hey Everyone, I thought I would create a separate thread for the 2021 Waitlist, just so we can keep the Accepted/Rejected/Waitlist thread a bit more clean for the next year of applicants. If you are not aware, there is a google spreadsheet that has been created in which waitlisted members are keeping track of waitlist order based on the time stamp in which emails were created/sent. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TCI1UUteVwLRKq5EpmxXSBUVugyr4KzWEpeyk5r5xHI/edit?usp=sharing If you want to enter your waitlist information, including timestamps and stream, that would be very helpful. Thanks y'all and hoping for the best

  9. Hi Everyone, 2 courses I took during the fall semester of my 1st year were pass/fail courses. O.K, so that year won't count for Ottawa's wGPA calculation So my questions are: would the final 3 years of my study be valid for the calculation? And if this does occur, what will happen to the first year marks — would they just disappear?
  10. Hi everyone, I applied to uOttawa this year and thankfully got an interview. However, IF I get accepted , I will need to have completed a pre-req from Athabasca University before June 30th to send my transcript to OMSAS. I was planning on doing my midterm and final exams in the upcoming months, but since all universities in my province have closed due to COVID-19 I will not be able to be invigilated (aka take my exams). Depending on how Athabasca deals witht the situation, I am unsure if I will be able to finish my pre-req before the OMSAS deadline. I know that everything is extremely uncertain at the moment, but does anyone have any idea of how pre-reqs will be handled by med schools in the event that unforeseeable circumstances like this one make it impossible for us to finish them before the deadline or, even worse, entering med school in the fall? Hope everyone is safe!

  17. Hey folks, Any ideas on if any Canadian schools reject or frown upon taking an online course during undergrad? It happens to be a biochemistry course, which I know is a prereq for Ottawa. WIll this make any difference? Also, do these things matter for US schools, at least ones that accept Canadians?
  18. Hi, I am a high school student who wants to go to med school (yes, I know how corny this sounds), and I LIKE BOTH OF THESE COURSES EQUALLY and can't choose between them. So, I would like to know which course is easier to get a high GPA in, while also having time for ECs and completing prerequisites for med school. I have heard that in health sci you have to take med prerequisites as your electives (is that a hassle?), and you might not be as prepared for the MCAT as a biomed student (is this true?). Also, I have heard that biomedical science is harder, so to make it easier you can take health science electives. Out of both of these routes which one is better.

  20. Hi All, So I've been accepted into physio at Ottawa U. However I was wondering if there were any anglophone Physio students out there who could sort of give me an idea of how hard the french is. I have a working knowledge of french and can speak well enough, however I am just really unsure about the course content and style of teaching and if I would be able to keep up with it all. I have never taken a university level course in french and have not been in a french class in 4 years. Just looking for some advice! Thanks
