Hi Jeannie,

If you buy an ISIC (international student card) for $17, you can take the via rail train from Ottawa-TO return for $136. The train station is a few blocks away from the Health sciences campus. There are several trains leaving Ottawa per day. It's very handy. I don't know about buses...maybe someone else on the board can provide this?

The Greyhound bus may be a bit cheaper if you book 2-3 weeks in advance. If you are travelling in pairs you can also check if the route has student companion fare discount which the other person travels for $15 one way and $30 return.

I highly recomend for first years Via Train Six pack. It is about 330 for 6 one way tickets and it includes the 16$ fee for the ISIC card. You will need to bring formal proof of full time status( tutuion bill worked) to obtain the ISIC card.

The times for travel is leaves Ottawa at 12:30 to toronto on Friday and and leaves Toronto about 6:30PM to ottawa on Sunday. The Ottawa Train station is near the med school, while the bus station is more downtown. You can also plug your laptop on the Train (where the group of 4 seats are in coach).

Cheers,

p.s.There has been some cheap 1$ fares from Jet's Go but they are pretty difficult to get and become 80$ one way tickets after taxes.
