Statistics with a Calculus prerequisite.

Recommended Posts

For the OVC at Guelph, there is a half credit requirement of a Statistics course with a Calculus prerequisite. My University does not offer any such course, at least not at the lower levels which I would be able to take.

Has anybody filled this course requirement through distance education? If so, what course did you do and how did you align it with your other studies (i.e did you make sure to start it the week classes started, overload with it, etc.).

I emailed the Guelph secretary in charge of the OVC applications, but they were not very helpful. They just told me that in recent years a course at my University has been successfully accepted for this prereq, but the course they mentioned now has a note in the course description that says "NOT TO BE USED AS A STATISTICS PREREQUISITE FOR SOME PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS", or something like that. They also didn't provide any specific distance ed courses which were acceptable. They really did not want to get too specific about courses, I guess, which is all I really want. I've taken high school and first year Calculus, as well as a natural science statistics course. So is there anyone out there who's taken such a course and could point me to it? The easier the better, lol.

Hey

my school does not offer Stats with claculus prereq at all! but I emailed Deanna Lundmark and she approved the first year math stats course. I know that the biological stats also qualifies for stats prereq.

I would suggest emailing Deanna and asking her for that specific course approval.

good luck
