IPAD apps?

Hi All,

 

I just got an Ipad. Anyone have some good app recommendations? Both medicine focused ones, but also PDF readers/organizers. Is there a good book that recommends/reviews apps?

2nd iAnnotate... probably the most useful app I bought.

 

It can import powerpoint and word documents as well and change them into pdfs which can drawn/highlighted and typed on.

just discovered iTunes U... it looks amazing. Can't wait to dive in. Also try CloudOn, 2Do, Evernote. Anyway I wouldn't recommend buying a book - the most up to date reviews are going to be online.

Inkling is truly amazing. They basically make interactive textbooks. I bought BRS review series and Harrison's on it and I just love it. Have a look on their website!

Here is my newest fav medical education app, ACLS Simulator.

 

It is a great way to review and test yourself on the various ACLS algorithms. Basically you can run little "codes" while riding the subway or bus...

It really helps out with opioid conversions. Useful depending on the service you are on. It's ridiculously amazing if you are doing palliative stuff, it makes you look good when getting that script cosigned.

 

It is a little pricey at $4. But if you hate mental math as much as I do...

 

The same folks who made this app also made another program for your benzos. If you like this one it is worth a look.

There is an opiate conversion calculator inside other free apps. I think ePocrates is one of them.

Does anyone have suggestions for a good CHM reader? What would be ideal is a combination CHF/PDF reader that allows me to organize my textbooks into folders (e.g., cardiology and gastroenterology).

You might want to take a look at Notability.

 

I use this app to organize, highlight and write on all my PDFs etc. I used it daily during clerkship.

 

I'm not sure if it reads CHM. But it might be worth converting them to PDF, this app is very nice with PDF management.
