I have a question-

I'm an IP student, received an interview invite last year, but refused this year. My resume is even stronger- more volunteer, full time work, re-did a prerequisite course and was in top 5%. Does anyone have a similar situation? I guess I just assumed I would have another invited since I did last year, with a worse resume/CV.

This has been my case for the past few years. I was invited for interview for fall in 2012 and refused post-interview. I've worked really hard for the next 2 admission cycles and only improved myself but got refused at initial screening.

I really can't explain how that happens, but my improvements included a M.Sc with first author submission, volunteering at few places, music training, etc.

Congratulations to all who have been invited so far :o ! Make sure you sign up for some of the events the students society will be hosting for you the weekend before the interviews. I participated in them last year and they were amazing and a great way to destress and ask questions before the interview.

Warm thoughts to those who didn't receive an interview. Don't be hard on yourself. There is a large amount of luck that goes into this med school application game. I only received an interview to McGill on my 3rd application - if this is what you are meant to do don't give up on your dream!
