Can anyone tell me when they got their class schedule for their first year?

Second week in July when you get your medportal access. It's published internally though if you have a question about a specific date, but I don't think it's kosher just to share the whole thing.

Thanks Bearded Frog... No specific date, just trying to figure out how many days I'll need to be on campus so I can decide where to live for the first few months (I'm accepted to Niagara)

Thats new haha. In my year we got our schedules during Oweek.

I'll bump this - does anyone know when we'll get our schedules to know which tutorial group we're in? I see above something about mid-July when we get medportal access, is that still the case?

You get medportal in middle of July, they organize tutorial groups then and you get them at the end of August at the start of orientation week.

Okay so just to confirm, even though we'll get medportal in July, we won't know which days we're in tutorial until orientation week?

Yup, unless they changed it, but we received our tutorials and schedule as a paper booklet in our physical orientation packages from the first day.

If memory serves me, I believe this past year the tutorial group lists were uploaded to medportal somewhere between 1-2 weeks pre-orientation week! Can't speak to if this will happen this year though!

As others have said, it's on medportal.  I'm not sure if it's allowed but I could post a screenshot of our first year class schedule if it would help?

Can anyone comment on whether there is any extra "hidden" vacation time in Mac's schedule? e.g. Will we actually need to be in Hamilton until December 24th?

Not many things are absolutely "mandatory" at Mac.  Even LGS attendance waxes and wanes significantly and the lectures are recorded.  You have your answer if you read between the lines

You will have a scheduled tutorial for Thursday or Friday of that week. Your group can decide to move or cancel that tutorial but the whole group and tutor must all agree. If you don't have tutorial you can probably leave after the clin skills session that week.

Thanks! Do we have any say in when our tutorials are scheduled? Or are they randomly assigned?

You're randomly assigned to a group which is either monday/thursday or tuesday/friday. Your group + tutor can negotiate changes in time and venue if everyone agrees though.
