Western Interview Invites/regrets 2016

SWOMEN: No

2YGPA: 3.86
MCAT: 520 (128 in bio and physics; 132 in CARS and Soc)

ECs: lots of theatre productions, literacy tutoring, refugee org, various internships and jobs, short stints at hospital, community centre, lab, etc...

 

I feel very validated by this invitation: I got invited to interview at McMaster, but I thought it might be my only invitation because I'm coming from an undergrad in drama. Feeling like an Establishment-approved premed now!!

MCAT: 13/10/14 (That VR 10 though...)
ECs: Work in a research lab (1 semester), cancer centre within a hospital (2 summers), orientation week leader and student society executive, co-authorship on one paper published, volunteering at a hospital for 3 years, shadowing a family doctor

 

I suspected this would be the case, but I thought I'd try it out anyway. Oh well! Good luck to everyone with interviews!

2 rejections (Western/Ottawa) in one day.. I feel sick to my stomach.  

 

Missed it by one point in CARS.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry this year's process at Western worked against you. I've read some of your posts (serious congrats on that 132 with no physics classes, btw) and it sounds like you'd make such a great doctor. Wishing you lots of luck for your interviews out west!

ECs: lots of research (+2 publications), club involvement, and volunteer work

 

 

I knew my GPA was not going to meet the mark. I have known for months that this was coming. I still cried.
