Bachelor's Degree Before Pharm

Hi I was just wondering if it is at all common for applicants to have a bachelor's degree before starting/applying to pharmacy? Could anyone peg a potential number to it, in terms of percentage of successful applicants in the entering class? How about for UBC specifically?

Can't speak to UBC specifically, but at U of T my class was something like 55% Male, 65% Female. The percentage of people who had finished degrees was probably around 30%? # of those without completing was arguably in the majority but there were at least 9 people with A Master, a few with a PhD. Not sure how it looks at UBC.

I know plenty of people who went into pharm after 1 year of undergrad, 2 years of undergrad, and as well degrees.

With the recent changes, you have to have at least 2 years(60 credits) of undergrad for UBCs pharmacy degree.

I'd imagine at least half the students entering now are straight for 2nd year, but there will definitely be a good mix of students entering after 3rd year and then degrees(because when you're at 3rd year, you may as well do an extra year to get the degree is what some think!)

I did an undergrad before doing pharmacy and there were plenty of other students around me who finished their first bachelor then started pharmacy.

In my case it was actually to my advantage because I grew more mature and learned how to handle better course load and life while performing in my pharmacy course.
