Focus on the US, your chances for residency are better there. Especially if you have failed Qe1 twice already, i cant think of why any residency program would pick you over someone who passed first attempt or 2nd attempt even for the already competitive IMG stream.

The usmle is different from mccqe1. It's a basic tenet of U.S. medical education that all good doctors should have a solid foundation in Internal Medicine, and this is reflected in the disproportionately large amount of IM questions on every usmle exam. The mccqe1 has a much more even distribution of questions across each discipline (ob, peds, surg etc). Your studying needs to adjust accordingly, so use the score breakdowns on your statement of results to find out where you need to improve. The mccqe1 also has shorter stems, so chances are you will either know the answer right away, or come down to a 50-50 guess. This test is about breadth, not depth of knowledge.

I used my usmle step 2 ck materials. Many people stand by Toronto Notes, but it's 1400 pages and I don't think it's necessary unless you've been out of medical school for a really long time. Online question practice helps more for the usmle than it does for qe1. I did some Canadaqbank, but in hindsight frankly I would have scored the same even if I didn't.

When I studied for my lmcc, I only read Toronto notes Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Psychiatry and that ethics section in the front. Then I did UWorld questions in the same sections as above. I also read Case Files surgery for that section. Good luck!

I did exactly this except I used CanadaQBank instead of UWorld, also did the GIM and Surgery questions (was really my only review for those two sections except for a little bit of high yield T Notes skimming through things like hypertension, diabetes, bowel obstruction, the usual bread and butter), and did not read case files at all.  Also did not read the psychiatry section because it's my specialty so I skipped studying it.

Same and I scored in top 10 percentile. Prioritize peds, ob/gyn, public health, and psych because there is less content to study than med & surg but the number of questions in each section is the same. I did not touch IM or surgery.
