Lifeisawesome Posted August 20, 2016 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 Just an FYI, last cycle's non-SWOMEN MCAT cut-offs were: Bio - 127 C/P - 127 CARS - 130 The CARS cut-off was quite harsh this year and I imagine it *may* drop down to 129 but I highly doubt it would drop to 126. There's a chance. a 128 is 90th percentile, whereas the 11VR which has been the historical western cutoff has been 95th percentile. I think it is likely to go to 128 in the 2017/18 application cycle when they stop taking the old MCAT and will (theoretically) take in the psych section into account. If you don't apply and find out you would have met the cut-offs, you (potentially) lose out on an entire year of staff-level income. I'd buy that lottery ticket any day. I also want to point out that a 128 has overlap with an 11. Lower bounds 81st and 84 percentiles, respectively. The range of 11 was 84-95, whereas a 128 is 81-87. And a 129 is 87-93. The range of 11 was 84-95, whereas a 128 is 81-87. And a 129 is 87-93. AAMC has updated the ranges and I believe a 128 is actually 83-90 now and a 129 is 91-95. majorleaguebaseball Posted August 30, 2016 Report Share Posted August 30, 2016 Hey guys I'm non swomen, these are my most recent MCAT results (my GPA for Western is 4.0) Total - 516 Chem/Phys - 129 CARS - 129 Bio - 128 Psych/Soc - 130 It is a bad idea to rewrite to try and get that CARS score up to 130?
