Thoughts On Applying To Uwo With 21Rc/20Aa

Recommended Posts

Looking at this year's stats and speaking with Trish it seems that they only use the RC as a threshold (>18) and the rest of your pre interview score is dependent on ABS/PS and GPA. There were people post-interview who got into UWO with 20-21 AA and rejected with 25-27AA. The DAT score is only one component of the admissions score, you have to do well on the interview and have a good ABS/PS to go along with it. Are you disadvantaged by a 20AA? Not really, just aim to score well on the interview and you'll be just as competitive. FYI, A friend of mine was waitlisted with a 19AA this cycle. Good luck!

Thanks a bunch for the insight. I'll be in school full time and I'm leaning towards NOT retaking the cDAT this year, since GPA is king at the end of the day.

Thanks for reminding me about the ABS/PS. ECs are a HUGE weakness for me, so that is a wakeup call

I agree with all the advice given above. I believe your scores will be competitive enough. I don't remember which thread it was but someone stated that he/she spoke to someone at UWO and was told GPA and DAT scores are not as significant as it was compared to previous years. So definitely work on your ABS and interviewing skills. Good luck! :)

One more thing, I heard some people got invites with GPAs as low as 83-84% and seems like the interview is the big obstacle so I would definatley apply. Seems like UWO is going for a more holistic candidate than merely marks.

Ah I see, nice to know about the DAT!

Truth be told though, all this holistic stuff is making me a big worried though as ECs are by far my weakest component lol.

Just need to try my best I guess. Best of luck!
