UBC2016
Hi! I'm a first year out of province student at UBC and I'm wondering what my chances are to get into pharmacy here because UBC prioritizes BC residents. Should I be aiming for mid 80's to be extra competitive? Does anyone know people who have gotten into pharmacy as a out of province student and what their averages were? Thanks and any info would help!
stealthy1
There's no advantage for being in or out of province; that's for Faculty of Medicine admissions. UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences ignores where you're from; however, being that you're a UBC student, you should have a BC Services card anyway for health services, which would identify you as an in-province, in case you're also applying to medicine. That being said, 80% was the last year average.
PharmApplicant2017
Hey guys, I am also an out of province student applying to UBC, but I have to meet the english requirements. Anyone know any online courses that would be equivalent to the UBC first year english courses? Thanks!
mulgrave
There is preference for BC students. I e-mailed them about it and this was the response: Thank you for your interest in our program. Preference is given to BC residents. At this time we are reviewing our process on how we collect proof of BC residency from our applicants. If there are any updates, we will notify applicants by the application deadline.
