Did you mean the verification of our gpa calculation and the documents received? If yes then we should be able to access those info under "document tracking" at the end of February or early March. I emailed ORPAS and that's the reply I got.

I have a situation. This is my second time applying. Last year the courses (5 courses) that were included in my GPA were not included this year, which significantly lowers my GPA. Has anybody else encountered issues with GPA calculation?

 

These 5 courses were upper division college courses. If ORPAS included them last year, shouldn't these courses be included this year aswell?

I've encountered issues as well... my overall GPA is much lower than the overall GPA on my schools transcript... I'm confused. And they included a course that I received a C in but had exempt from my transcript and got a better grade for an equivalent course which lowers my sub GPA as well... I'm going to email tomorrow about it I guess. Pretty disappointing seeing that

I could be wrong about this but as far as I know ORPAS includes repeated courses if they fall within the most recent 20 courses. ORPAS uses their own GPA convertion which typically results in a lower GPA than what is on our transcripts. Ya better to contact them and get some clarification.

the overall GPA I think includes every course pass or fail as long as it is on your transcript. I could be wrong though.

Just a reminder to everyone that there is a deadline for reporting changes to ORPAS. I called them yesterday and they only take email requests, but the deadline for reporting for any changes is Feb 28th.

Thanks so much! I emailed yesterday and still waiting for a response. I imagine they have many emails to go through, hence the slow response. It would be nice to get a response for some peace of mind.

Definitely... I emailed them yesterday too because how they calculated my marks this year was different than last year...... Hope they can get back to us soon with some answers!

Do you know if ORPAS keeps record of past year's GPA calculation? I hope they honor the way my courses were calculated last year. Otherwise I would be at a huge disadvantage. I'm trying to think positively and not freak out.

I hope ORPAS got back to you and fixed the problem by now, because they didn't have any policy changes especially regarding to GPA calculation so everything should stay the same. They do erase their data and 'reset' their system every August. Best of luck.

Hi, I did get an email response from ORPAS but it didn't really answer my question.

 

Does anyone know if the universities do their own GPA calculations or they use the GPA reported by ORPAS?

I think it's up to the University but I would imagine they most often use ORPAS for GPA calculations.

I heard from Queen's. They only use ORPAS gpa and do not recalculate it. I doubt universities have the time to recalculate GPAs, which is why it puts me at a big disadvantage if ORPAS doesn't include all my courses in my GPA.
