How Did The Interviews Go For You?

Recommended Posts

Please share your experience, however, be careful not to reveal any information related to the questions.

I initially felt confident with my answers, but now, I keep questioning my responses. I feel that I did well on 3stations, and I felt that the rest were average ( mediocre). I can't stop thinking about additional things that I could have said to improve my responses. Do I have any chance of getting admitted?

Was there a wrong/correct answer to any of them? Don't say anything specific or discuss the stations but I feel there was a correct way to answer one and I may have said the wrong answer but I was honest in my thinking and provided my raionale...I also felt like I made a big assumption in one station, and also may have missed an important detail /  did not directly answer the question in 1 or 2 ):....also not sure how to stand out or they mark the group station as I felt everyone in my group contributory equally and had good points....

.overall I thought I did well in 3-4, average in 3-4, and poor in 3 ):

I don't think there is wrong/correct answers in the MMI. It is all about the thought process and how you defend your thought process.

It was hard haha. I tried to be thoughtful, integral, and honest. I had a hard time judging after how it went, it was unexpected, I thought I would know what to say, but I didn't. I had a sort of plan for how I would tackle the prompts, and had to abandon it, which was disconcerting.

Rigid flexibility!

Yes, it is supposed to be difficult and thought provoking.  It is very difficult to judge your performance, especially because you are getting compared to others in your track.

This was my 2nd time interviewing for UofC and I thought it was less "out there" than last year. The questions were more vanilla, and more comforting in a sense? They didn't have weird stations that threw me off last year!

I really just tried to be my self and explain my thought process and opinions (when asked). I look at med school interviews as if it's a first date with a potential gf/bf. We both have to like each other and mesh well to make things work for the next 3/4 years.

If Calgary and their interviewers didn't like my professional, but light hearted approach to their MMI... then maybe it wasn't meant to be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?

I do feel like for one of them there was an answer that was a lotttttttt easier to defend than the other answer
