Chances?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, was looking into applying to AMCAS for the 2018 cycle and I wanted to know about my chances.

GPA: 3.78

MCAT : 513 129/127/128/129

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Numerically, you have an average to good chance of getting in somewhere. But, probably most important, what are your clinical experiences like? American schools want to see (1) patient interaction experiences, and (2) shadowing experiences. The first is to show that you are capable of working with sick people and handle the stresses of that, and the second is to show that you know what you're getting yourself into.

Hi OP - you should register for the MSAR when the new stats come out by the end of this month. This will give you some better insight into your chances. Also, I have seen some lists for Canadian friendly American schools through my social media posts in the past. Just Google it and you should get some good guidance although make sure you always check what you are being told. Nothing is Gospel out there!!!
