Md Doing Dds

If an MD went back and got their DDS, is there any possibility of getting into OMFS? How would that work?

For sure it's possible. After dental school (and likely a one year residency) you will apply to OMFS program matching. I'd guess that already having an MD would be an asset but I'm not sure.

 

A better question would be - why? Why not try to match with head and neck surgery or plastics which has a lot of overlap with OMFS. You'll save at least 3 years of your life.
