Why Is Tuition In Ontario Medical Schools More Expensive?

I think the short answer is because they can get away with it :)

 

and they will continue to until we push back hard enough to stop it. 

 

This is exactly right.

 

I think Ontario looks (and is linked) much more to the US for standards - tuition generally even higher there, so I think there's less push back.

 

In Quebec, which is generally more left leaning and European in outlook, there were widespread student protests that basically forced a government to back down (and out of office) when hikes were proposed.

 

It's not all black/white though because sometimes underinvestment has consequences too.  

 

It gets unfair when tuition is raised for no apparent objective improvement or reason - basically paying more for the same thing.
