License - Canadian pharmacist working in US

Hi all,

Does anyone know if pharmacists who are licensed in Canada are eligible to apply for their license for the states?

According to the NABP website, in order to get FPGEC (Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee) certification, the minimum pharmacy program length is 5 years! However, most Canadian schools only offer 4 year PharmD program (not sure having one year residency will help).

Any success story of Canadian pharmacists working in the states?

Thanks in advance!!

Yea it's really not that hard to get licensed in the states. Companies will try to get you to work in less metro areas in the states close to the border. I think 5 years means including your pre-requisites years (for B.Sc. that's 1+4, PharmD 2+4).  I don't know anyone who actually went to the states, but for my friends who seriously considered, it sounded very simple (apparently they don't have OSCEs? But dont quote me).
