how many of you believe in god

are you done being an idiot? okay you asked me that I haven't addressed the OP question, I wasn't talking about him I was talking about crimson who asked me to provide proof about my "claim". I provided him with an introduction to it. Also, a lot of my posts were in response with what people were saying to me, and I was addressing it. Only one person, crimson asked me to provide proof the other were hot-headed posts. "Although I cannot provide you with a direct quotation, it's like me trying to prove that the holocaust occurred, it's just something that is accepted. But from my understanding, the Bahai faith was introduced in Southern Iran by England to hault the spread of Islam, which was seen as a threat. The creator of this "religion" claims that he is the final Imam. If you know anything about Islam, shiite muslims believe in Imams, descendents of the Prophet Muhammad. So really, the Bahai faith seems to be a continuation of islam but the irony is, it does not follow any of islams teachings and claims to offer a different perspective on religion. Moreover, I am not here to say Islam is better then any other religion, just in case anyone is getting the wrong idea." This is the second time that I am posting this, you're either blind, or incompetent if you clearly missed this entire paragraph. "Otherwise, if you haven't, answer the OP's question and leave your opinions to yourself" ummm who died an put you in charge, you obviously don't understand the concept of an open of forum. That's another miss for you.... Since you haven't addressed the OP's question, then my advice to you is, take your own advice and keep your opinions to yourself. see how childish this gets...

what contractions, I've been pretty straight-forward with everything I said. You on the other hand are confused and hypocritical. Unlike others, I actually have the nerve to speak my mind, and whether people get offended by my opinion isn't my problem, seeing that everyone has their right to exercise their right to free speech. Just as you have been attacking me, I'm allowed to do the same, as long as it's not impinging on their freedoms, or in any way threatening them. Of course I'm not gaining anything from this discussion, because of people like you. As mentioned by a previous poster this is a forum of discussion, people have debates, they argue etc, and don't need to take everything so personally. I am open-minded, being open-minded is gaining knowledge about new things, and exposing yourself to it. Well I gained knowledge about the bahai faith, I exposed myself to it and now I have formulated my personal opinion. Please don't make this about being openminded it doesn't make sense in this case.

lol and you know nothing about the bahai faith, you do realize that there are bahais that celebrate ramadhan but during another month. What you've stated, as I've previously mentioned, is not unique to the bahai faith. Honestly, don't play stupid, why do you think the bahais are not allowed to freely practice their religion in Iran, don't act as if the religion hasn't been plagued with politics. If you honestly think that, then you're really ignorant about the religion. And don't respond by saying that Iran has an islamic theoracy, because other religions, jews, christians, etc do practice freely in Iran, have mosques and churches, where they can attend.

obviously, do you think that the bahai faith would admit to having a history plagued with politics and animosity. Also, stop asking me for proof when you really have provided me any. I really don't care if you are offended or not, as cruel as it may sound. I'm a caring person, but when someone is blatantly doing the exact samething they're accusing others, I lack sympathy. The bahai faith being founded in Iran by one guy, I'm sorry it sounds more like a cult. Most religions aren't founded by people, but come together based on a belief of one God or many Gods. So that's another point against the bahai faith.

I guess you forgot to read the title of this thread, if you want to freak out about interviews, then make your own thread. Or go to the "rant" thread and don't tell people whether to start or stop posting, really, who are you anyways??

i do believe in a God who created us and made us special as human beings, giving us awareness and brilliant minds with the potential to learn and advance like no other species...and i think it's ironic that many of us use these gifts to disprove his existence and convince ourselves and others that the world and life as we know it today just somehow "happened" -avenir just claimin'

It's very easy for you to pick apart everything I said, you went on a whole rant about God, so don't give me this bs about claims and what not. Also you really haven't said anything, and I think you should keep it that way, since you haven't really introduced anything remotely interesting or thought-provoking to this discussion. oh and may you should stop picking apart bits and pieces of what I said and focus on how I successfully proved that you're no more than a hot headed hypocrit that you conveniently decided to overlook and not address what I said. I unlike you have actually responded to all the criticism against me, you unfortunately haven't. but please do continue, I like watching people struggle...

"Religion is always a touchy topic - not at all akin to being insulted by a supervisor" you'd be surprised, faith, spirituality and religion are essentially apart of a person and they will in a wide variety of situations be tested. you might be in a situation that goes against your religious morals yet is being asked of you by a boss/supervisor.

I never introduced a claim, I simply stated that I believe for the most part that the Bahai faith was founded on politics and not on the pretense of religion and the unification of people under one God. I believe that there is a fine line between a claim and an opinion and yet it seems that most people find that it's more of a blur. Moreover, it is up to whomever read what I said to other take it as fact or fiction. I never, not even once, try to push this belief onto others. On the other hand, people here have continued to assert that I'm wrong, and literally trying to push this opinion onto me. Therefore, with that stance, I wasn't obliged to prove my claim to anyone . Although one person asked and I did provide them with a simplified version of why I believe in what I believe in.

Maybe you should read what I actually wrote, I never said that the Bahai Faith feels threatened by Islam. It's very hard to discuss this when most people either misinterpret or misread what others have written. Also, I'm pretty sure most people on here don't have a grasp of the Bahai Faith or most religions for that matter, they just all stand united against what I said and that's the difference. Furthermore, many of the ideologies of the Bahai faith are not unique to the religion, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Bahai faith practiced outside of Iran actually boasts about taking bits and pieces of other religions and bringing it together. Also, nobody seems to understand what my stance is on this matter. The Bahai faith people seen in North America is not the same faith practiced in Iran. The reason for the animosity between iranians over the bahai faith stems from how it was created, and how a foreign body (the british) created the religion to basically create animosity between the muslims and bahai's. The British colonists and imperialists are infamous for doing this and they have always had their hand and continue to meddle In Iranian affairs. I find it very interesting that people who are medicine hopefuls cannot discuss something without being offended. Unfortunately, the world isn't all about rainbows, and sunshine. If you get this offended easily, then it's hard to say how you would fend for yourself as a doctor during residency, when you are being ridiculed by your superiors. Just because you don't agree with it and have taken this personally does not mean that what I have said isn't valid.

what are you talking about, not only are you a hypocrit but you take people's words out of context. Way to go, you only come off as an ignorant tool

how many of you believe in god

you're such a hypocrit, aren't you doing exactly what you're accusing me of? using claims such as "anti-Bahai propaganda used by Iran's Islamic theocracy". Do you have proof of this, do you have evidence any sort of investigation to discredit my claims? Isn't it a bit presumptuous of you to say that there "is absolutely no truth to [my] claims", when clearly you haven't proved otherwise?

Although I cannot provide you with a direct quotation, it's like me trying to prove that the holocaust occurred, it's just something that is accepted. Moreover, I am not here to say Islam is better then any other religion, just in case anyone is getting the wrong idea. and btw the onus is not on me to prove anything. since many people on here are trying to refute what I'm saying, then it's their duty to find evidence against my claims, not the other way around.
