  1. Hey, Whats the tuition like for Canadian students per year? Thanks.
  2. Do Feb DAT scores tend to be higher than Nov scores? I remember at the actual DAT exam people were saying that.
  3. On the website they said it ends in 5 hours. Also, for anyone that has written it before in Toronto, does your stuff (bag, food, etc) stay in the same room you are in? Thus being able to keep an eye on your stuff?
  4. Quick question, on the "check-in information" is that the start time of the test or the time you have to be there at? (be there at 8am or test starts at 8am, thus be there at 7:30am?)
  5. So if I study in Ireland or Australia, I cannot apply to specialty programs in the USA or Canada? And if I specialize in Ireland/Australia, then that will not be recognized in USA/Canada? Still trying to figure it all out and see if its worth going abroad if I want to specialize in the end... Thanks.
  6. I'm just curious. Since New Zealand's dental program is accredited for Canadians, has anyone applied to the University of Otago? It seems very unpopular. Do they even accept Canadians?
  7. Thanks for all the information. I did not consider the whole practicing in US part. So I am Canadian and I am really interested in going to Australia or Ireland but I do not know if I want to practice in the US in the future. I think overall the US will be roughly $400K+ for debt whereas Australia would be cheaper however cost of living is high. Are there any Canadians here currently in Australia/Ireland who can share their experiences? Thanks once again.
  8. Hey, What is the general consensus regarding going to dental school in Australia or Ireland? As well, is Australia cheaper than the US? Thanks.
  9. For those people who applied to American Dental Schools, what was the difference between your OMSAS gpa and the gpa that was calculated by american dental schools? Thanks.
  10. I was wondering what the approximate difference between peoples OMSAS gpa and AMCAS gpa is usually? If people could let me know how much their gpa went up, that would be great!
  11. On the UofT website I found this and was a bit confused: "Note that courses taken in the academic year, during the proposed year of entry, will not be included in the calculation of the applicant's cumulative GPA. Any offer of admission, however, will be contingent upon the successful applicant maintaining an annual GPA of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale) for their current academic year." If I'm applying during my fourth year, does this mean my fourth year marks will not be included in my GPA? And If I graduate by May 31st, they will drop my lowest year but still not include my fourth year? I'm a bit confused, any clarification will be appreciated.
  12. I'm planning on writing the cDAT this November but I dont plan on applying to dental school until next year. On the registration it says you can choose schools to send your results to. If I don't want to apply until next year, do I still have to choose schools?
  13. In the "ADMISSIONS BROCHURE FOR 2013 ENTRY" it says: "The Canadian DAT is offered twice a year (February and November) and all sections of the test must be completed." Since it says all sections must be completed, I assumed this included the manual dexterity section. Is this true?
