  1. I went to CIBC branch and the advisor told me that he recommends I have some money (~15000) on my chequeing account. Otherwise I may need a guarantor.
  2. Can anyone with a CIBC LOC chime in on what perks they received there or what credit card is best to get there with a LOC? I am thinking of maybe switching to Scotia if they are able to offer me the visa infinite momentum with the LOC.
  3. Result: Accepted (off the waitlist) Time Stamp: May 27 (10:30am) wGPA: 3.986 Stream: English Year: UG completed Location: OOO IP ECs: PM if you'd like to know. Interview: I felt okay walking out, but after reflecting on it later, I thought I would get rejected. Some of my answers could've been better, but I guess I performed well enough to receive an offer. My panel was friendly. Can't wait to meet everyone in the fall! I am very grateful for this opportunity and good luck to all those still on the waitlist!
  4. I think you may have miscalculated your GPA. How do you have a 3.86 with a C in a course?
  5. Actually, Kine Nutrition (Kine 4020) does count as a biochemistry requirement for Ottawa, and ONLY Ottawa.
  6. They don't have to at all and most won't. It's not fair if they only raise your mark. As far as I know from the classes that I took, 89.5 got rounded, 89s sometimes get rounded and 88s occasionally get rounded (in 4th year courses). It's all based on how many students already obtained A+s
  7. yes, but it would be (1st year x 1 + 2nd year x 2) /3
  8. Anyone had courses with Professor Denise Henriques or Professor Lauren Sergio. I am enrolled in courses with both of these profs, and was hoping to get some feedback on their tests and teaching(Kine 4500- neurophysiology of movement, 4505-neural control of movement). Thanks!
  9. 1745 with Metcalfe is interesting, and quite fair as well. I recommend it. She gives you chapter questions that you need to answer and if you know every single question, you're almost guaranteed 95+ on midterms and tests. Assignments are really easy, I've gotten 100% on all of them so far. Term projects are also fairly easy and not too time consuming. The course breakdown is 30% midterm, 30% final exam, 8% quizzes (which are easy), 20% term projects (which I've been getting 90s on), and ~monthly assignments worth 12% (gotten 100% on all of them).
  10. Hey guys, Any feedback on Kine 4710- Psychology of Health and Chronic disease with professor Guglietti? The midterms span 2 lecture days and she said her MCs are difficult, but I am just wondering if a student is able to give me feedback. Thanks!
  11. Hey guys, Did anyone take KINE 3710 with Tanya De Sylva? I am debating whether I should take it or not. She teaches immunobiology (BIOL 3120) as well, so feedback from guys who took biol 3120 would also be appreciated. I am leaning towards taking an easier course, but I find immunology interesting. However due to its difficulty and time commitment, I am not sure if I want to take it.
  12. Why did you not receive a calculated OMSAS GPA? You should have received a letter since you applied this cycle. I believe you have to get this verification. And also, when you applied, it says you're cumulative GPA when you entered all your grades and the courses.
  13. You can't use your school's yearly GPA (12 point system) and convert it to the OMSAS GPA. You need to take each individual course from every year and convert each individual course to the OMSAS GPA. This is because the numeric differences assigned to each individual grade (ex. A+, A, B+) are different between the 12 point system and the OMSAS system. Look at the following example: If I were to take 4 courses per year and receive an A+, A+, B, B, then according to the 12 point system, you have a 10.0 GPA which converts to exactly a 3.7. Now, if you were to take each individual course and convert those to the OMSAS GPA, you'd receive a different GPA. A+=4.0, and B=3.0. So it would be 3.5 GPA. That's quite a difference than the GPA above. The 2nd way (method showed last) is the way to calculate your OMSAS GPA. Therefore, we're not able to extrapolate or really tell you anything from the GPA you gave us, and GPA is king.
  14. That's great. Luckily things worked out well, especially since it's your 2nd undergrad. What are you majoring in? if you don't mind me asking.
  15. You have every right to know what you got on the paper. Why not email the TA and ask what mark you got? If you received lower than a 67, then go in to receive some feedback and ask where you went wrong.
  16. Same person She got married this summer. And I heard from friends that regional anatomy II is very interesting, and it's doable to get an A/A+ if you study.
  17. No, it's for the school year That's why I was assuming some proffs based on them teaching those courses last year. So does York not let you enroll if you take more than the maximum number of psych courses?
  18. You're a psych major? And they don't let you enroll in any more psych courses really? How many psych courses did you take lol
  19. Any feedback on any of the following will be appreciated: 1. Advanced human nutrition- Roger Kelton 2. History of astronomy? probably Metcalfe or Armour (online) 3. Vascular function in health and disease- Tara Haas? 4. Kine 4900- exercise therapy for chronic diseases- Rolando Ceddia 5. Relaxation- Cumming 6. Health psychology-mills 7. Psych of women- ross/stuckless 8. Abnormal- fleming (online) Not taking all of the above just looking for some feedback. I heard history of astronomy was fairly straightforward, but I looked through some of the grades on the tests and a lot of people got in the 60s. Ps. Where did CCM go?
  20. He is one of the most condescending individuals on this forum without a doubt.
