  1. I would say, I can't really comment on the culture of the program as I've been mostly off service. But I do find it really hard to cope with the stress and the loneliness being so far away from my family, to the point that on most days I feel tired and unhappy.
  2. Hey guys, I am a first year resident in a surgical specialty and so far I feel life has been pretty tough. After thinking about it over and over again, I am seriously considering transferring. At this point, I am not sure if I want to attempt to transfer to the same program but in a different school vs transferring to another program. Does anyone have any experience regarding transfers? Thanks!
  3. You need to change the filters at the top of the worksheets. Next to course grade status there's a pull down menu from which you can select "GRADED (GR)" and that will filter out all the non graded in your GPA calculation
  4. I'm afraid that you can't re-upload it. On the CV+PN uploading page, it says: "Number of versions allowed: Single version - no updates are allowed."
  5. Hey guys ! I have trouble differentiating scholarly activities and extracurricular activities. If you have been involved in a school club, whether as a member or as a president, is it considered as SA or EC? Is it appropriate to list some of my hobbies under EC? Thanks a bunch!
  6. Hey guys, So I started to fill up the application form and I'm kind of stuck. Actually, I initially thought of writing a letter of extenuating circumstances, explaining how my grades where affected due to the student strike we had last year: including the fact that I had dropped a class which left me with a semester of 12 credits (while the standard recommended by McGill is 15). Consequently, I had to take a summer class to fill in the gap. However, on the application form, it states that if I were to submit this letter, file processing by the admission committee might be delayed. This seems quite disadvantaging to me as it seems to jeopardize my chances of being considered, while I was hoping for the opposite. What do you guys think? Should I still submit a letter of extenuating circumstances, or should I just leave it as it is? Many thanks
