  1. Out of curiosity, what happens to spots that are unfilled after the second iteration of the match?
  2. Random question, but has anybody ever heard of somebody matching to a program they did not interview at? Would it be at all worthwhile to rank such a program?
  3. Hi Everybody! I've generally heard that for competitive residency programs, doing an elective at a given school increases your chances of being accepted. I was just wondering how rural electives, such as electives organized through ROMP, would be viewed for the purposes of CaRMS. As much as I would love to do a rural elective, I don't want to spend a valuable block of time if it does not actually increase my CaRMS competitiveness at any school... Any advice? -Cheesehead
  4. To answer one of your earlier questions, Mac will look at any courses that you take, whether you were taking a full course load or not.
  5. No publications or research presentations for me, but I did have some basic Research Assistant experience. Having a publication can be quite helpful at certain schools, but it's not absolutely necessary.
  6. What are the chances that the waitlist will start moving before the may 24th omsas deadline?
  7. Accepted! Graduated B.Sc. OOP GPA: 3.97 MCAT: 523 ECs: Pretty standard stuff. Lots of volunteering, some research, some sports. Interview: I came out of the interview feeling alright, but have been doubting my performance ever since. I thought I bombed a couple of stations. I can't believe it! I can't stop shaking from excitement!
  8. He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
  9. I have the weirdest feeling now. As much as I was counting the days wishing that decisions would be released already, I'm now terrified that results may come out this week!
