  1. Does anyone know if the police information check that is requested by ACP (through the BackCheck system) can also be used for the experiential placement (PIC + Vulnerable Sector check) that they refer to on the welcome letter?
  2. Hey, I think everyone is going to get new OneCards anyways because we need the prox cards for door access. Mine is still valid too but I'm probably going to submit an updated picture since it will be for the next 4 years... my photo is the same one from 7 years ago!

  4. Hi everyone, Just wondering... after getting acceptance, do you go to "change program" on Beartracks and do it yourself?
  5. Just got my rejection letter yesterday. I'm out of province.
  6. That's really unfortunate that her application was considered ineligible. But she definitely should try again, and take it as experience for next year. Just curious though, how "low" was her GPA? Because I'm surprised that they would cancel it this early - the only time I've heard of an application being ineligible was because of a missing prerequisite.
  7. Hey everyone! Just thought I'd start a new thread for this year's applicants to the UofA Pharmacy program. Letter of Intent and Pharmacist Consultation Form are now posted on the Faculty of Pharmacy's website!
  8. I haven't heard anything either. Mine still says decision pending. I know, this wait though....
  9. I emailed to ask how many are in the 2015 applicant pool, but they can't release that info yet : / makes me nervous!
  10. Koko, Sorry to hear that you're having to deal with the additional struggle . Applying to pharmacy is stressful enough.... Wishing you all the best! I think that as long as you're still full-time, then it's ok. Because for admission, they just calculate a GPA... they don't look at the individual letter grades for each course that make up that GPA.
  11. I think the interview is probably based on your LOI. Because what else would they have to go by if final marks aren't back until May? I had the same question so I asked Rae and she said that there is no guarantee that every applicant will get one. But she said that's a decision made by the admissions committee so she can't say how they choose. But last year most eligible applicants did have the chance to complete one.
  12. I went to an info session in October and they actually mentioned the entry-to-practice PharmD program. They said that it's still to be determined when the program would be implemented at UofA, but most likely not until at least 2017 or 2018. It would definitely be worth it to ask and find out if there are any updates about that though.
  13. Hey guys! I'm applying this year too! I just recently made the decision that pharmacy is the route I want to pursue, so this will be my first time applying. I'm in my 6th year at the UofA, in the Special Student program with the Faculty of Science. I'm upgrading a few of my pre-reqs, since pre-req GPA is probably the biggest worry for me. Especially, my General Chemistry grades, which are pulling me down.... I'm really hoping they look at the improvement since first year, because I think the GPA on the most recent two years shows a more accurate picture... Good luck to all of you, and enjoy the holidays!
