  1. More people get accepted than there are spots because a lot of people who get in OOP decline their offers for IP schools. Good example is Manitoba that interviewed like 25 people for 21 offers with 5-10 spots. Some schools actually end up running through entire OOP wait lists so your post interview odds can actually be amazing. That being said, the stats you need to get in OOP will probably get you into Ontario schools.
  2. Yeah I wouldn't count on much (if any) waitlist movement until 2 weeks after offers come out. Hang tight guys, and be glad they actually tell you your relative position, unlike the OOP waitlist.
  3. Barry said last year only got to 30 but the year before cleared the whole list so it really varies. I think your odds are way better this year because the mcat cut offs are higher so people are more likely to get into other schools. Good luck everybody! If you look on the accepted wait listed rejected thread it looks people are already starting to pull themselves off the wait list so expect a good amount of movement in 2 weeks.
  4. With the current exchange rate, $250k won't even cover your tuition, let alone living expenses
  5. The best way to de-stress is to avoid this site like the plague
  6. Don't count yourself out until May 13th. There was no way in HELL I expected to get in based on my MMI performance but the voodoo sacrifices pay off. Only one more week guys - you can do it!
  7. In the 2014-2015 cycle there were 92 offers declined and 13 offers defered https://www.afmc.ca/sites/default/files/documents/en/Publications/AdmissionsBook2016-Final-EN.pdf
  8. Pink wins every year but they never actually give pink backpacks hehe, I think it's going to be teal
  9. Trust me dude, so did I but I managed to sneak my way in. I have faith in you!
  10. Yes - welcome aboard the waitlist train But if you're references haven't been contacted yet I wouldn't worry as obviously they can't make 200+ phone calls at once lol
  11. Last year they were sent on Friday April 17th I think
  12. Not necessarily. Last year, according to Barry Ziola, the ~90/130 or so people who passed the interview were all placed on the waitlist, and only 30 or so offers were sent out. In the year previous, when only 62 people interviewed, they cleared the waitlist and everyone who passed the interview was accepted at some point. I'm thinking this year's chances will be better than last year (~100 people interviewed) but probably not as good as previous years. Either way, if your references were contacted, you passed the interview, and that's definitely something to be proud of! Good luck guys.
  13. The order you listed them doesn't matter, as they randomly pick 1 or 2 of the 3 you listed. References won't be contacted until mid-April, when they determine if you pass the interview or not. Just an FYI, if you get an email before April 17th or whatever saying they're contacting your references, it means you passed and are either waitlisted or accepted as OOP.
  14. The odds were pretty bad last year though, like 130 people interviewed for 12 spots.
