  1. This is was I was thinking. They'd for sure be closed for tomorrow (Good Friday) as well as Easter Monday. I don't think they'd torture us and make us wait until next week… Or would they...
  2. Hey guys! Just thought I'd let you all know... I emailed Gillian Luff, the admissions assistant for PT at U of A inquiring about the cut-offs. She told me that the OOP province cut-off for this year for PT was 4.0 on a 4.0 scale! So AKA I am doomed for next year lol… She also told me that my sGPA calculated according to U of A was 3.79. Which makes me feel a bit better actually because I thought it was 3.85. Although I was very upset initially, trying to hit that perfect 4.0… I know that's near impossible for me. I'd be a complete basket case (my, I already am). Keeping my head up to hear from McMaster today
  3. This may be a stupid question.. But if we've already received a rejection email, is there still a chance that we could be invited for an interview if enough people decline?
  4. Yes, I have applied to McMaster and Queen's. However, my sGPA was calculated lower by ORPAS as they ended up having to average my last few semesters to make the 60 credits. Therefore, I'm going in with a sGPA of 3.73. My hopes were the highest for U of A as I had a 3.85 for them. They were my number one choice too. I'm totally devastated
  5. "Dear _____, The Admissions Committee of the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta met recently to determine applicant admissions to the course-based Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) program for August 2015. Unfortunately, based on your academic score (GPA) your application does not qualify for admission this year. Please check the Physical Therapy homepage for more information about the competitive GPA and mandatory prerequisite coursework (http://www.physicaltherapy.ualberta.ca). If you have any questions or concerns about your application, please contact Gillian Luff, Admissions Assistant. She can be reached at 780.492.7844. Thank you for your application and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Lisa Jasper PT, MSc Chair, Admissions Committee Department of Physical Therapy"
  6. Congratulations! But I can't help but feel a bit heart broken .. What was your sGPA?
  7. What was your sGPA if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to get a sense of the cut-off...
  8. Hey PTapplic - if you don't mind me asking, what was your sGPA? Mine is 3.85 for U of A and I'm also an OOP applicant. I haven't heard anything from them yet
  9. If you're talking about OT I have no idea as to when you can expect to hear back from them as there is no interview process, like you mentioned. I just know that for PT the website says this: cants can expect to hear about the status of their applications as of April 1, 2015. Interview offers and declines will be sent to their University of Alberta email address*** I'm an OOP applicant so my fingers are crossed... As far as to what email we can expect to hear on, it does state that it will be the U of A email address (although I can't seem to find where I found this information). It does say this regarding BearTracks though: Should I check BearTracks to monitor the status of my application? No, the Department of Physical Therapy does not use BearTracks for admissions purposes. Please log in to the Online Supplemental Application regularly to verify documentation has been received by our Department and to view any messages we may leave for you.
  10. Hey guys! On the U of A website it says that we will be notified via email regarding the interviews through our U of A email. This was provided to you when you first originally set up your application. It is something@ualberta.ca and uses gmail - you will not receive notice through BearTracks!
