  3. Is the CPR/AED course a one day course, or is it a multi day course that includes first aid? I thought it was the CPR/AED only, but want to double check.
  4. are all the emails closely batched together? like all waitlist should of gone out by now since someone got one?
  5. Thanks for the updates guys, good luck to everyone and congrats to those who are still in it!
  6. Pardon my neuroticism, but so basically if we survived this we could expect an interview?
  7. So do we all think that there may another round of rejections...?
  8. I posted this in a thread but did not get a response: Does anybody have any recent resources or information about applying for jobs in Canada as a DO? I think DO is a great route to go and I'd be fine if I got sponsored for an H1B, but of course I would like to keep opportunities open in Canada. From what I've seen it looks like there is no major issues with getting Licensed, but do enough people know about the DO in Canada for a job application to not be at a disadvantage by the degree?

  10. I am interested in USDO, but I would like to come back to canada (BC) for residency. Specifically psych. But with the changes to IMG status for DOs in other provinces, I am nervous to consider this route. Is there any good websites to keep track of this information for BC? I don't want to be in the middle of my education at a DO school and find out that it changed to IMG status in BC as well.
  11. Do Canadian medical schools expect each letter of recommendation to be specific to that school? (e.g. mentioning specific things about that school or having the name of the school in the LOR?) Since AMCAS can only hold so many LORs, it seems that one version of the LOR is appropriate for applications in the US, but wanted to know if having one version is good enough for all Canadian schools? Thanks!
  12. I was hoping to get some opinions on my application and what people think of my chances to UBC. aGPA is 85% - I had a rough start but my past 2 1/2 years have been ~3.9 or 4.0 GPA, so a strong upward trend. I take the MCAT next month so I do not have a score. NAQ: Research: 6 conference presentations (including an international conference, and this includes posters and talks). I have a paper that I am submitting for a journal, so hopefully that is accepted by application time. Clinical: hospital volunteering, in which I am now starting to help develop a new role for volunteers. I also am involved in a committee at another hospital for patient concerns. I have also volunteered at a suicide hotline. Non-Clinical: Office assistant for non-profit (4 years), Kitchen support staff at a homeless shelter (5 years, monthly), fundraiser for a food bank, and a board member for a non profit (3 years). I have had brief shadowing experience, but just for a couple hours. Misc: TA for one semester, scholarships, and an award for one of my presentations at a conference. I will also be able to add employment throughout my undergraduate education, some portion as a manager (leadership experience). Does it seem like my NAQ can help bring up my alright AQ? Thanks in advance.
