  1. I was born and raised in central Toronto. All of my friends living in the city within similar professions (ie not in medicine, making ~65-80k salaries 3 years post grad) live in apartments or rented condos in downtown Toronto. You can't have everything - if you are a young professional living in Toronto on a single-person income, you are most likely not going to be able to afford to put a downpayment on a house until you have put away some savings (and even then it may be hard). If you want an affordable larger home, you need to move to the suburbs. Also, what is wrong with a $240k condo?!
  2. Incoming 2019 here! I'm starting to look into housing for the fall, and am stumped as to whether I should try to find a roommate or not. There are so many nice things about living alone, but I wouldn't want it to hinder me from getting to know my classmates / developing a solid group of friends. What do most Mac med students tend to do? Any thoughts about housing in general would be appreciated!
  3. Accepted off the waitlist to Hamilton campus! I got the email today at 11:38 am
  4. I think you get accepted to whatever campus becomes available first, according to your position on the waitlist. Can anyone confirm this? Just from sheer number of spots at the Hamilton campus, I imagine most people get in there.
  5. Accepted off the waitlist to Hamilton campus! Timestamp: May 20, 11:28 am GPA: 3.93 VR: 11 IP 4th Year UG Interview: thought it went okay, some stations were great and some not so much.
  6. Accepted!!! Time-Stamp: 7:51 AM wGPA: 3.93 (same as cGPA) Stream: English Geography: IP Current Year: Just graduated Interview: Thought it went terrible actually. I thought I stumbled on a few questions and came across as flustered more than once, so much that I'd cringe whenever thinking of interview day. I thought it would be a sure rejection. I even almost forgot to shake hands at the end, starting to turn for the door before one of the interviewers abruptly stuck her hand out to remind me. Just goes to show that a couple awkward moments don't make or break you! On wait list at Mac which is my top choice, so I'm not sure whether or not I'll be accepting yet. I couldn't be happier, congrats to everyone else who got an acceptance!
