  1. Result: Accepted to Windsor campus Timestamp: May 14 9:45 AM 2 yr GPA: 3.88 MCAT: 128/128/131/127 Interview: Didn't feel great afterwards but looking back was happy with my answers I did a lot of prep! Geography: non-SWOMEN
  2. I know last year was a bit delayed- when do you think they will be sent out this year? Thanks!
  3. Does anyone have any insight to when the rejection emails will be sent out?
  4. I think it's really good you chose finance because you don't really have a grasp of current health problem in this country. Just finished my MPH degree and there are a lot of complex health problems we need to solve with doctors, nurses, nutritionists and other allied health professionals. It seems odd that if you're making 1.5 million dollars this month that you have time to write these long rants on a premed forum about how horrible medicine is. Best of luck in your future business career I hope you approach it with a positive attitude.
  5. OOP no interview GPA: 3.9, MCAT: 514 Maritime essay: Family Maritime connection but nothing great
  6. Not sure, I would assume with spaces to be on the safe side in less someone has heard differently?
  7. Is it bad to write none? I can't think of anything significant to write that hasn't already been mentioned in the ABS
  8. I submitted on Sunday and that's what mine said at first and then when i checked 15ish min later it was back to normal and i could see SAM and all of that
  9. NVM red X went away a few min after submitting!
  10. I submitted my application but for personal activities it is still showing a red x. I filled out everything in the section but only put in 3 examples of employment instead of 4 is this the reason? Is anyone else having this problem? I'm going to call admissions tomorrow just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this
  11. Did you just write first name "Office of the Registrar"? In the past you could put "0" as the verifier but thats not an option this year :/
  12. Thank you!! I think I will put shadowing/clinical observation and expand on my role in the description! Thanks!
  13. Sorry for the late reply!! Thank you both for the advice. I guess I am unclear what section to put in under for the activities I am doing it as my work term for my MPH and I'm not paid. So it doesn't vist "Paid Medical" but also not "Volunteer Medical", I could put shadowing and observation but I am doing a lot more then just shadowing as I am building classes for patients etc. What do you guys think? Thanks so much! My description describes everything I have done does the category I pick matter?
  14. Hi Everyone, I am applying to american schools this cycle and would love some advice about to write about my clinical experience. I am working for the next three months as a clinical assistant for some family physicians which includes: patient intake, charting, billing, shadowing the doctors, running classes for their patients and eventually taking patient histories. I know US schools are big on shadowing hours so should I just be highlighting the amount of time spent shadowing or all of the clinical experience as a whole? I feel like all of the clinical experience together paints a better picture of what I have been doing this summer.
  15. "A resident of Alberta is defined as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (Landed Immigrant) who has been continuously resident in the Province of Alberta, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories or Nunavut for at least one year immediately before the first day of classes of the term for which admission is sought." Does that mean that I would be considered an Alberta resident in for the October 2018 application if I moved there this August or I would be considered a resident in October 2019? Looking at moving out west once my Master's is done in August and was just wondering if anyone could clarify on what this sentence means. Also is first day of classes usually Sept 1st? Thanks!
  16. For anyone that is interested the OOP Average Interview Scores were CGPA= 3.94 (max 4.0) ECs= 8.00 (max=12) and MCAT Score= 129.63 (max 132)
  17. Thank you! I will not waste my time with a second undergraduate degree. Retaking the MCAT would be my next step moving forward!
  18. Thank you so much for the reply! You're right I really don't want to do a second undergraduate degree. I will be applying to the US this summer and retaking my MCAT in the future if that doesn't work out. I am done my Master's in August and have been thinking about moving to Calgary as I think I could have a shot at UofA if I was IP. Thank you again for your thoughtful reply I appreciate it.
  19. Thank you! I'm Ontario IP and not Swomen which is why I had no luck at western this year. I will be applying to Dal next year as OOP and some american schools. Most likely will retake the MCAT next summer after giving american schools and Dal a try, and aim for 129 in CARS. Thank you for the advice!
  20. I am feeling very lost about what to do next year and where to go at this point with my application as this is my second cycle applying and I'm feeling unsure of my chances. My GPA: 1st year: 3.49 (dropped one course and took it in the summer so counting that 3.53) 2nd year: 3.53 3rd year: 3.91 4th year: 3.85 cGPA (uoft): 3.695 cGPA (mcmaster): 3.704 wGPA (UWO, Queens): 3.88 wGPA (ottawa): 3.82 Course Based Masters of Public Health: so far high 80% (this would only could for Dal) MCAT Total: 514 (128, 128, 131, 127) EC's: multiple volunteer trips abroad with the same company and continued work with them, two summers of summer undergrad research, a publication, university clubs with a few that i was part of the exec team, and was president of a club that worked our cities homeless population, other kind of basic extracurriculars this summer will be gaining some clinical experience as a clinical assistant and hopefully another two publications one from my masters and one from this summer- will also be gaining some more certifications over the summer through my masters. Will also be volunteering more locally this summer. I just feel kind of lost in my options. I know my cGPA holds me back and can't help feeling that a second undergrad could help- in this undergrad I don't count for UofT's weight GPA because i dropped a course in first year. But I also will be adding lots to my EC's and getting a couple new references from my masters. I could work for a year while applying a third cycle this time covering all of Canada and a bunch of US schools. I could try for a 3rd cycle and then weigh my options if the 3rd time doesn't work. What do you guys think? Any advice is appreciated
  21. I'm a grad student and this is my second time applying to medical school. I just got my Queen's rejection yesterday and the only reason I can think of would be my EC's. I have two summers of research at Sick Kids, author on a publication, several volunteer trips abroad, president of a university club, members of several other clubs, research volunteer etc etc. I guess pretty basic, I've looked into shadowing but I don't know how much that would add, other then just waiting a couple years after working what else could help improve my application? Thanks i advance I appreciate all the advice
