Im in a similar boat as you, I applied last year with with a 3.84 gpa and 21 AA (26bio/21chem/17RC) and 19 pat and didn't get an interview...I'm retaking the dat to improve my rc +pat sections to at least a 20, and now that im in my going into my 5th year they should drop my lowest year which should get my gpa to about a 3.88...if I still don't get in then im going to australia or ireland because this is really starting to get demotivating. Why take on more debt when you don't have to...
Sure it might feel good to get into dental now, but things will take more time to fall into place and you'll probably be more stressed out. I dunno, I'm gonna keep applying in Canada until I get in. Unless you're gpa isn't stellar or you're just really not that that confident in your abilities then yeah go somewhere else, but you seem to have a good gpa. Keep it up and get in here. Don't be in such a rush, enjoy the process and work hard.

You might be ahead by getting into dental, but those who waited and got in here in Canada will be ahead of you down the road. Think about your goals as a dentist. We're all for the most part pretty young, what we want changes constantly. It's a gamble to make a decision like that at a young age cause you might regret it later on. Australia and the states will always be there. Stay calm and bust it out. You'll be better for it in the end.

No it will not suffice.  What i would suggest is that you get the pic+ vulnerable sector done and then u can just photocopy it and have ur guarantor sign it and send that to ACP, that is what rae told me.  Hope that helps

Hey. I am currently going into my third year of pharmacy at the UofA. The service learning site is a "sort-of" rotation that you do throughout your first year. It will be at a site where you will work as a volunteer about once weekly, and mostly involves working with people with disabilities. Majority of the sites are long term care sites. There are usually a couple that involve children undergoing various treatments as well. I don't know if they changed the hours, but I believe it is 25 hours in the fall and 25 hours in the winter.

Perhaps it is because some people feel there are more to life than material possessions, or at least more than having an expensive car that really can't be driven all that much. If a physician really wants an expensive car, then they'll certainly buy one.

On Bear Tracks, if you search for  PHARM 300 - Experiential Learning - Part 1, it shows the total number of open seats remaining.  There is no guarantee that this includes everyone who was admitted, but it is an indication.

I'm enrolled in classes for the first term! That's probably how they know.

They are very explicit in saying on their website that the MCAT is a screen only. We don't know any more than that.

I don't mean to be insensitive, but there's really nothing productive that would come out of knowing. Do your best on the essays, select the references you think are best. There's nothing more any of us can do.

And trust me, you'll be anxious and worrying enough once the winter comes around, so try and ease you mind now while you can. I fretted about that the pre-interview score constantly, because UofT was my 'dream school', and I was pretty sure I didn't have the GPA to ever have a shot. Just focus on what you can control (your application itself) and hope for the best!

Yeah thats what I did because I received an email that said you need to change the program on bear tracks once you receive admission, just make sure you change the program for both fall and winter separately because it doesn't do it together, but you can always call in and confirm!

I volunteered in a hospital for 4 years, I also volunteered in a medical centre reading prescription and making herbal medicine for one summer. And as well, in my interview, I got to talk about working at Fort Edmonton Park as a costumed historical interpreter.
I have done a lots of other extracurricular and volunteering but I didn't get a chance to mention it in my LOI or interview. I got admitted as a first time applicant, hope this help any future applicants!

I got a reply however I sent the forms and deposit in the first week of June. The $175 should show up on beartacks as either a spring or summer payment.

I emailed Rae for a confirmation just to make sure, because otherwise I would be a nervous wreck! My account summary says the same thing, but I think I'll call tomorrow to confirm that as well!
