    Mcmaster Schedule

Okay so just to confirm, even though we'll get medportal in July, we won't know which days we're in tutorial until orientation week?

    Mcmaster Schedule

I'll bump this - does anyone know when we'll get our schedules to know which tutorial group we're in? I see above something about mid-July when we get medportal access, is that still the case?
  3. I think 2 months of steady practice is plenty of time - just need a good combo of volume (see as many passages as you can!) and reflection (thinking about the answers you got wrong, tracing the part in the passage that lead you astray)
  4. The question packs are recycled questions from the old MCAT's verbal sections, which are actually harder than CARS (apparently). It would explain why you found test day easier! That would explain it... my mark on the old MCAT verbal reasoning section wasn't the greatest, and similar to Hopeful2017 I found that my performance on test day for CARS was significantly better than the scores I was getting during practice. Glad it's not just me!
  5. I can speak as someone who's recently tried this strategy successfully.. I only studied for CARS, and my score ended up 124/130/124/127 = 505. It got me into Mac, and also got me accepted at an Irish medical school too (my backup given my low GPA of 3.30)

    Missing Classes

On that note, when do we find out our schedules? I have a few (less official) possible conflicts in September and October and would be nice to know if it will be an issue or not.
  7. I just got accepted with GPA of 3.30 and CARS 130 if that's any comfort... but us low-GPAers are a pretty rare breed according to the stats! I spoke with Mac about this directly and they were clear they do not look at any of your application until after interviews. The invite to interview is a mathematical formula, and that's all there is to it. Doesn't matter how special you might be, they get 5000+ applications and so it makes sense to me that they can't read them all. After interviews they review the full file, mostly looking for red flags to rule out admission, before assigning the final ranking. So... as brutal as it is, getting the highest possible CARS + Casper is all you can do! I would suggest lots and lots and lots of prep.
  8. Accepted to Hamilton Campus Timestamp: 10:58 am Total GPA: 3.30 CARS: 130 Casper: Felt pretty neutral.. I did lots of prep. Honestly felt kinda meh about it, I had felt better in previous years, but clearly it went well! Interview: Felt good, most of the questions felt like easy answers but again so hard to say. Mostly posting this so you other low GPAs out there can see - kill the MCAT, kill Casper, and it can be done!!!!
