  1. Hey! I am a resident of Ontario so I would be OOP for UofManitoba Medical School. My AGPA is 4.20 after my third year and I'm writing the MCAT late August. I remember reading on their website that successful OOP applicants have AGPAs above 4.3. Should I bother applying to UofManitoba? Would I stand a decent chance? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has any good courses to recommend from the IMS substitute courses. I was looking for something that is offered first semester and is a doable 4.0. The substitute courses are: in the 2000-4000-level range (with the exception of the 4000-level project courses) from: Anatomy and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Medical Biophysics, Medical Sciences, Microbiology and Immunology, Pathology, Pharmacology, or Physiology. At the moment I am thinking about taking MedBio 3501 but I'm hoping there are some other interesting courses out there. Thank you!
  3. Hey guys, I just completed my third year of undergrad at Western and looking at my GPA I'm really concerned whether I have a shot at getting into any med school in Canada. I wanted to know what my options were and if I could get some brutal honesty on what I should do to maximize my chances at getting in. 1st year GPA: 3.56 (1.0 summer credit and finished with 4.0) 2nd year GPA: 3.76 (0.5 summer credit finished with 4.0) 3rd year GPA: 3.73 cGPA (Mac): 3.71 wGPA (Ottawa): 3.71 wGPA (UofT): 3.84 GPA for Western/Queens: 3.745 Ideally I want to get into med school at Western. I'll be taking the MCAT again this summer and hoping to do really well in CARS. My extracurriculars aren't anything special, and no publications either. Would my two best year GPA be good for Queens? Is there anywhere else in Canada where I would even have a chance? Should I start looking at only American med schools or Caribbean med schools? I could really use some advice, thank you in advance
