  1. I am in so much shock... Got rejected with a 92% average. I didn't feel that bad about the interview... Not even a spot on the waitlist.... I am just shocked beyond belief.
  2. I don't think so lol, my last name starts with "S" and I'm at 9AM
  3. Got mine as well!!! Mine is at 9AM! With check in at 8:30 wow so early Also super down to practice! Any other science undergrads out there? I seem to get the impression that most applicants are from Kinesiology
  4. TIME STAMP: 9:26PM PST Interview Invite or Regrets: Regrets, No Interview Early or Regular Deadline: Regular GPA or AGPA (if applicable): 87.14 MCAT (CPBS / CARS / BBFL / PSBB): 127/125/129/128 [509] Current Degree (UG/Bachelors/Masters/PhD): 4th Year UG Geography (IP/OOP): IP Extracurricular Activities (awards, achievements, volunteering, employment, research, etc.): Exec for a club(although only since spring), volunteered in hospital ER since 2nd year, volunteered in a lab since 2nd year (no pub), worked in some children's day camps since high school till 2nd year (some odd jobs here and there), part-time tutor since 3rd year, involved with UBC Orientations since 2nd year, volunteered for some UBC events, a few roles in undergraduate society, included some community volunteer positions in high school (not sure if it helped), coached a high school sports team... had a big research internship this past summer but couldn't include it (since after Jun 1 cutoff), but got a scholarship for it which I included. A couple class awards from high school, passport to education from BC government... NAQ: 25.07 AQ: 25.88 TFR: 50.95 Obviously disappointed.... (TFR cutoff for BC applicants was 51.12.... UGH) I really thought my grades were right in the ballpark. 1st year average of 83.8 was a little low... but 2nd year average was 86.8% and 3rd year average was up to 91%. I guess that positive trajectory wasn't quite enough.... Here's to hoping an >90% 4th average and dropping that 1st year average will work out next cycle. Good luck everyone!
  5. So it can't even help you when you're on the waitlist.... I wonder why though... There's plenty of time for grades to be submitted between final exams in April and May offers. And i guess the effect of this is that it gives applicants that already graduated by June 1 an advantage! Hence the average age of the entering class being 24 years old? So then during that application period from May to the following May people travel, work, volunteer, or do a masters? And then if it doesn't work out then try again or pursue something else I guess huh
  6. Ok so after looking at past posts and the UBC Med requirements/FAQ.... I think I understand the adjusted GPA policy. Let me know if I misinterpreted anything..... I'm starting 3rd year now so this is hypothetical/planning for next summer.... So say I'm starting 4th year in September 2018. I have 30 credits registered for the two upcoming winter semesters. I have 31 credits from 1st year, 32 credits from 2nd year, and 30 credits from 3rd year = 93 credits completed. No Co-Op, no exchange. I apply that September with those 93 credits. That GPA will not be adjusted because I don't have at least 120 credits completed by June 1st, 2018 and therefore cannot drop the 30 credits from the lowest year. Ok... say I get an interview with that GPA. I do the interview in February 2019. And then on April 30, I complete 120 (probably 123) credits. NOW at this time post-interview they DROP my worst 30 credits?? And then use that NEW ADJUSTED GPA to reevaluate my profile and then get a response in May 2019? So essentially BOOSTING GPA's in 4th year CAN potentially help with that current application cycle? BUT if in Dec 2018, I get no interview.... then too bad those 4th years grades can only be used for the following cycle in september 2019 and I will have an adjusted GPA to use pre-interview?
