  1. Declined spot at WRC in favour of Western - best of luck to everyone on the wait list!! I hope somebody gets the good news for this spot soon :)
  2. Oops.. looks like in my excitement I completely messed up the date. It actually states June 1st in the letter as the deadline date.
  3. Just got the offer email! The weekend has never felt so long.. I just took a quick glance at it, and it looks like the tuition deposit is due in 2 days (June 30th)??? Even though we have until next week to accept? Correction - deposit due June 1st
  4. Accepted to Waterloo regional campus off of the waitlist!! :O
  5. Maybe they're holding on to most of the WL offers until next week, to better match up with other schools?? I assume the largest opening of spots will happen next week after the May 22 deadline for first offers anyways, maybe more efficient to lump everything together.
  6. I don't think there's a good way to know how many students are on the waitlist this year. If you're looking at more historical data of offers vs. acceptances, it may be useful to look at this post. I guess the only way to know approximately how many students were on each (good/reg/bad) waitlist for prior years would be to ask the current students of schulich med...
  7. Looks like the Mac waitlist is already starting to move!? Based on past years, it seems like those of us on the WL for Western will have to wait until the 22 before we might start to hear news though : (
  8. Does western have a high/normal/low waitlist system or just high/normal ?
  9. From past/current year threads it looks like that is indeed the case
  10. From what I know there seems to be mentions of a "good" and "regular" waitlist in the accepted/rejected/waitlisted thread. Seems like it depends on what comes after this sentence in your waitlist email: "Although you were not ranked to receive an offer at this time, it was recommended that your name be placed on our Wait List. Any offer that is not accepted will be filled by an individual from the Wait List." [some mention of whether or not applicants at your rank received offers in recent years?] I'm not sure personally whether or not there is a high/normal/low or just high/normal waitlist.
  11. I guess I'll kick this thread off: As an OOP student, I didn't really have a strong preference between the Ontario schools I interviewed at. While I had very positive experiences with students/staff at every interview weekend, Western really stood out to me. From the balloon arches and incredibly enthusiastic welcome to the casual, down to earth way we were shown around the campus, the community seemed to be so driven and so vibrant. From what we were told, the curriculum structure also sounded really cool! I was really hoping to receive an offer, but have been placed on the "high" waitlist. It's pretty nerve wracking... but I'm trying to stay hopeful (but not too hopeful).
  12. Good/regular/bad waitlisted by Western? Want to discuss chances/look for reassurance/rant/chat with other waitlisted applicants? This is the thread for you!
  13. Result: "good" waitlist Timestamp: May 8, 2018 @ 10:38AM 2 yr GPA: ~3.95? MCAT: 131/131/130 ECs/Volunteer: Student leadership positions (long term), full time work since graduation, some sports & fine arts, various (not very long term) volunteering roles - none at hospitals/healthcare, very minimal research/lab volunteering, working with various populations Interview: I felt like it was my best interview compared to my own performance at other schools, but overall felt like objectively I did just ok (as my performance at other schools felt.. not great). Had some laughs, did my best to build rapport, but had a weak/awkward answer on the last question and probably left the interviewers with a bad impression late in the game. Did have some time for asking my own questionsat the end and finished right on time - not early nor late. Panicked a bit on the written portion and was paranoid that I'd failed it and shot myself in the foot for wester - but it looks like that turned out ok! Year: Graduated w/Bachelor's in 2017 Geography: OOP, non-SWOMEN This result is pretty nerve wracking... anyone know if there have been years where they did not make their way through this section of the waitlist? I know there are no guarantees but I guess I'm looking for some empty reassurance ; u ; Honestly interview day was such a positive experience for me and has really influenced where I would ideally want to study! All the students and staff/faculty that I interacted with were so friendly and excited to meet the applicants - they made me feel welcomed and at ease. It was great to get the chance to experience a bit of the community vibe at the campus and tour the facilities, and I hope I get the honour of joining that community.
  14. Result: Bad Waitlist English Stream Time-stamp: 8:15 AM wGPA: 3.92 CASPer: Felt ok about it. I can type quickly and answered most questions - ran out of time a few times on the 3rd question. ECs: probably not that strong - some sports, some fine arts, various volunteering (longest being 2 years long) and a few student leadership type things. Minimal research. Interview: I felt pretty terrible about this interview - didn't go into it prepared at all as I received an interview invite off of the waitlist too - on very short notice, and several weeks before any other interviews. Honestly not surprised by this result, but disappointed anyways Year: Graduated from undergrad Geography: OOP
  15. Hi everyone, I have been waitlisted at uOttawa (bad), Mac (mystery?), and Western (high). Does anyone know if Mac has good/bad waitlists or waitlist/rejection? I'm also itching to know approximately how many people are on the "high" Western waitlist, but I suppose this information might not be available. Being on 3 (essentially really 2) waitlists is going to shorten my life from stress.
  16. Anybody got plans/distraction methods for tonight?
  17. I feel like I've been discouraging myself/trying not to be hopeful to protect my own feelings. It's less of a blow to set lower expectations - if my expectations fall short at least they didn't have to fall far!! I know if I get rejected it'll hurt either way, but I'm trying to convince myself it'll be less painful this way x) Pretty sure this isn't exactly a healthy coping method, but you do what you have to do to make it through these last few days.
  18. Also on the West coast I'm happy to chat anytime, even in the wee hours of D-day morning!
  19. I think sleep is out of the question... if there's a way for us to convene and share our anxious last moments together that would be nice I'm trying not to think about the possibility of waitlists and having to wait past May 8.
  20. Hey OP, Are you able to log into the OWL portal (rather than the Single Sign On page)? The OWL portal was the site where the written portion of the interview was done. The SSO site (where interview time signup and Campus Preference was selected) doesn't work for me either. Perhaps as campus selection closed on April 9th, that site is no longer accessible?
  21. "OMSAS must receive your final transcripts by June 30, 2018. Submitting the TRF by this date does not satisfy the deadline requirement." is listed on the OMSAS Transfer Information page. I think in your situation it may be a good idea to contact the medical schools you interviewed at individually to explain your situation and discuss next steps. If for example, if a school is willing to have your final transcript sent in later directly to them, that would be useful to know in advance.
