  1. Yeah I think for my work experiences, I'm going to write "x hours per week" and for my volunteer/EC experiences, I'm going to write "x hours in total" just so that it's clear. Hopefully the adcoms will be OK with that!
  2. Super last minute question here: The OMSAS instructions state "total hours (per week or per month)" which has me a bit confused. How are you reporting your hours? Per week, per month, or the total number? Some of my extracurricular activities had super variable hours per week/month or they were discontinuous (e.g. volunteered for a year, took 2 years off, then picked it up again) so I'd prefer to report the total number of hours (e.g. 300 hours for the whole activity). I realize this probably isn't a huge deal but any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  3. For the Self Directed Learning, Problem Solving, and Critical Inquiry essays, Western says one of them must be about research if we have research experience. I did an honours thesis during my undergrad - does this mean I have to write about this? I also have 4 years of clinical research experience and I would rather focus my research essay on this because it was a longer commitment and I have more examples of the qualities that Western is looking for here. Thanks!
  4. I’m still on the waitlist. Hopefully we’ll get some news later this week. I’m also planning on starting my application for the next cycle soon.
  5. Congrats!! I hope you get bumped up to your first choice site. I hear ya...the wait is brutal! Usually 1 or 2 spots, according to the admissions blog. That said, every year is different and who knows if COVID will impact how things play out.
  6. Just curious, are there any folks here still on the waitlist? I know it's a long shot but I hope there's a little more movement before the summer is over...
  7. Not an invite unfortunately. Just wanted to post my stats from Monday to see if anyone has any advice/suggestions: TIME STAMP: 5:12 PM PST Interview Invite or Regrets: Regrets Early or Regular Deadline: Regular AGPA (if applicable): 85.25 MCAT: 516 (130/125/131/130) ECs: 12-month coop in clinical research (full-time), residence advisor, some research/lab work, hospital volunteering, academic coaching, leadership in university orientations, conference planning, volunteering each summer at a local park (since HS), several small volunteering commitments Current Degree: BSc Life Sciences (graduating in May) Geography: IP NAQ: 20.28 AQ: 22.92 TFR: 43.20 This is my first time applying, so I didn't really know what to expect. I knew my AQ would hurt me a bit, but I was more surprised by my low NAQ score. After seeing how talented and accomplished all of you are though, I don't feel quite as bad! It's hard to say whether the NAQ score is due to adjustments in evaluation criteria, competitiveness, wording, or simply needing to gain more experience. Hopefully the Ontario schools will be more sympathetic, but I'm open to having a gap year if that's what ends up happening. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts. Congrats to all of you receiving invites today! You've earned it!
